That XK8 - paintwork, alloys and interior all look immaculate. FSH apparently too. Some car for the money.

About to hit 300,000 kms and she still glides along as well as she did in '96.

It'll be made my daily driver in January but until then I'll just keep it in the garage with the others, giving it the odd spin on a nice weekend.

Thought €1600 was a bit dear until I looked at prices for similar.

    I rang about it.

Headliner is hanging down, passenger headlight needs replacing, and lacquer is peeling from the bonnet.

About 500-650 to get it right.

You could deal with the headliner and bonnet for the time being and get the headlight fixed. How's it mechanically? I know there's only so much you can find out over the phone

Im guessing the reason for the price is high mileage. Obviously it will need to be checked out but if all is ok it would make for good value motoring Imo.

I'm gonna have to revisit my "not giving those barstewards tax on anything over a 1.8" beliefs, as I fear it's hurting me more than them!

For what it is its not cheap. Maybe not as dear as others but still not cheap. I like the GTI rims and tail lamps though, they are a nice touch...

Aren't they just from a Highline model?

I do stand to be corrected but not entirely sure you would have got the 1.4 with Highline trim level. I'm sure if I am wrong I will be corrected pretty quickly here

Lads looking for a cheap car must have nct in galway/Ross common area

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,894 ✭✭✭✭bear1

You may want to be a bit more specific.

    What fuel type?
    What body type?
    Is tax a must?
How much do you want to spend?

Or... just start a separate thread on the specifics

    Up to a 1.4 petrol
NCT to at least next February/March
    Any type of car considered
Doesn't have to be taxed but don't want to be paying months of back tax
Max price I want to spend is 700 euro

You won't have to. Any back tax owed on the vehicle will be erased upon change of ownership.

Looks clean with a good amount of tax left and supposedly low mileage. no mention of nct though.

They were added after. That's a 1.4 comfortline.

It's hardly a scrap heap just because it has no test:rolleyes:
