No snobbery, it's like saying someone's a snob because they prefer a Renoir over the clip art image in the parish newsletter.

Tbh, half the bikes in this thread fall into that category. We should ban readers' wives.

Yep, it's strange one alright. Spend 10 grand on a light weight frame, fork, wheels electronic groupset, power meter, Asymmetrical chainrings designed to milk every last watt of energy out of the bike and then go and blow all of your hard won advantage with an upright seating position? Fair enough if it's an old guy with a bad back who still wants to compete but if not, then just buy A Carerra TDF from Halfords and join a yoga group.... Bam, you've just saved yourself €9000.

This is my contribution. Built it up this year. Doing my first full season of racing with it in 2014. My apologies if there isn't a picture, first time posting a pic on boards, I'll get it right eventually.:D

The mix of red and orange frustrates me. They should have made the detailing all the same colour.

Also the front brake cable being that taut annoys me too. Needs more slack.

It's the minor details that make a bike really great.

    My latest project.
I have acquired a mid 90s Tommasini Tecno which is mechanically sound but could do with some attention to paintwork.
Campag Chorus & Mirage mix. Aksium race are on it (front temp swapped out for pic below) and I've put my own saddle and pedals on. It's a very comfy bike.
I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I may investigate restoration, or possibly use it as a runaround/winter hack. It would need rechroming, which I can't see being cheap.

Had a similar dilemma last year with a prestige frameset..
In the end u sold it as the cost of doing it up properly and knowing that I could never have the paintwork truly replicated didn't sit well with me..
They must have been the bomb when bought new!!!

What handlebars and stem do you have on it?!

ITM Wingshape bars with Evolve XC Raceface stem. They were on it when I got it. I think they look out of place.

Where does one acquire frames of such loveliness?

I was fortunate enough that my cousin remembered I like steel bikes when he decided to make room for whatever carbon monstrosity he's got his eye on. He offered and I could only say yes.

So is mine. What a class :).

The only criticism is about the frame size, just too large for me :(.

Built myself a fixie a while back. Just to fit in with the cool kids.
    Specs ;
    Subrosa Malum frame set
Velocity B48 rims on BrickLaneBikes hubs
    BLB 38cm pista bars
    BLB mosquito saddle
    BLB leather tape
BLB track pedals with double leather straps and black steel cages.
    BLB track chainset
    Halo twinrail Berlin tyres.
Shadow conspiracy two finger lever with a tektro long reach front caliper.
I got a generic black stem hold it together.
    Its all steel!
