How Harry a racing man and racehorse owner never noticed in the saturday papers that while Lee Topliss was at football matches with him he was also
meant to be riding at a race meeting somewhere else is amazing.

It's a rubbish made up story from Harry trying to sell the new book.

Just got paid out 138 euros off a 5/1 2 euro win in a bookies in Spain. The teller scanned my docket twice looked at me said something I couldn't understand in Spanish and smiled. I stood there with a stupid stunned look on my face, looked at her turned around, stopped, thought about it and walked out the door. It's my local bookies, if this was in Ireland I wouldn't give two ****s in Spain I'm not so sure. Is there any come back for the bookies?

:) I was very hungover, the stupidity of my reaction has become obvious to me now. I would love to know what she said to me in Spanish, maybe it wasn't a cock-up and just some weird Spanish bonus thingy. Either way I'm quids in :).

Fook that! Straight out the Door money in the back pocket..end of story! Sounds to me like someone has the bad case of the fear. Even if it was 1k I'd be out the door!

That was exactly it, gas situation though, went in very hungover to collect 12 quid leave rattling with 138. The race in question was the 4.25 in Newmarket, Al Thakhira. I will be avoiding that bookies for the foreseeable future just to be safe, not too much of a hassle as there is another bookies three doors up from it.:D
