These were amazing... as were the Lone Wolf series by Joe Dever. I think most of them are still in the attic :-)

Lone Wolf - now there is a blast from the past!

My kids have started getting into Fighting Fantasy books and it is great to see how they deal with it. My daughter just wants to kill everything and everyone whereas my son has started to try and draw maps.

I remember how when I tried this the first time a bear mauled me before I even got into the dungeon (that bear had loaded dice I tell you!)
