I CAN'T GET INTO THE POSTGRAD READING ROOM

    I got a locker and everything but I can't get into the building! Is anyone else's card malfunctioning?

    How do I solve this? Who do I contact?

    Yeh, it happened to me at the start of the year and I was told to go to the Academic Registry, which was PACKED. Thankfully my library permissions weren't right either and whatever the duty librarian did to change that gave me access to the reading room too.

    Hold the bar code on the card up to the reader.

    The door works by holding the barcode on your student card up to the red part of the card reader at the door. It's not just a question of waving your card against the reader as on many other doors like that of the Long Room Hub. That might not be immediately obvious if you've never used it before. Your card may not be malfunctioning - you might just be doing it wrong.
