    I really don't know what to do with my car. I wish someone else would make the decision for me. Part of me thinks it's a waste of money to fix while I have a gut feeling fixing it would be best.

    Who knows.

    You need a magic 8 ball or, its absence, a coin toss.

    My own newly acquired Bimmer has been the cause of much heartache. It's currently in Ibiza in the company of my co-owner with a cracked alloy. Since picking it up 9 days ago, it's had 4 new tyres (I'm convinced they swapped after test drive), new brake pads front and back and new front brake discs - despite being told that these had been done and same being recorded on their system. Taken together with new coil springs (magially snapped int he 23 miles between MoT and delivery), it's turning into an expensive luxobarge (subject to the outcome of legal proceedings). The current problem is the worst as it's not that easy to source a new alloy and run flat on a small holiday island when the holiday season is over.

    Hope this makes you feel better....

    In your position I would declare it off the road and park it up for a while to give myself a chance to think rationally about it. In the meantime I would just buy something very cheap from bangernomics. I'm fortunate to have the space to do that though....

    I'm playing with that idea but knowing my luck I'll buy something that all 4 wheels would immediately fall off.

    I do have the choice of a number of weather proof sheds in which to put it though........

    Well if you have the space take the time to clear your head. In your position I would get a Starlet as a run around just because I was driving my friends one last night and I just thought it was kinda nice/fun in it's own way :)

    Hey you guys (sloths voice from goonies) :D. Can anyone recommend a torx bolt remover tool? It's for a caliper slider bolt pin on a focus mk1. Some clown over tightened it the last time. It's wasn't me :).

    Imagine the scenario...

    Half five after a 9+ hour shift at work in the pouring rain i pull out going left when i see a small gap in traffic as my boss waits to go right onto the main road.

    1st = Wheelspin
    2nd = Wheelspin ( Oh crap that car behind me is almost up my Howl)
    3rd = Wheelspin
    4th = Wheelspin
    5th = Wheelspin
    6th = Engine revs to 5-6000rpm (im only doing 20-25mph at this stage) a judder down to >1000 rpm and off i go.

    Boss and fella behind me (who might i add kept well back until i left the road lol) must have been wondering wtf i was at :p

    Hope it was just me snatching the clutch awkwardly and the wet+greasy conditions and not my clutch waving byebye.

    (Thinly veiled my hot hatch wheelspins in 6th !!!!)

    When my turbo cuts in on a fairly wet road it makes for an interesting experience :D

    Osram Nightbreakers get mixed longevity reviews but the output is supposed to be good. eBay is good value I find.

    I'm skipping that altogether and looking for OEM Xenon lamps :cool:

    Did the LED number plate/interior lights myself during the week = awesome!

    Well main reason im thinking of replacing the number plate cluster is the ford original ones the housing rusts to hell and it looks awful.

    Heard good things about the nightbreakers alright just need to figure out of they do foglight bulbs of the type i need also.

    Looks like I've to get another car to polish. Deposit taken and it's going on Sunday. Now I need to decide what I want and how much I want to spend. A friend suggested I try find a good clean 406 HDI Rapier. My family suggested I buy a new car as everything else I touch seems to fall apart. I'm currently open to suggestions.

    To eBay! :pac:

    Price them online first, Someone might be selling a conversion bundle for the car or whatever and do a deal.
    then ring some motor factors to see what they charge. :)

    You do seem a mite hard on cars:pac:

    Bloody hell, the C5 blew another headlamp. Getting sick of this now. They don't last more than 8 weeks. And they're a royal pain to replace.

    Halfords do heavy duty ones. They really do work.

    Was looking into the long life ones, especially as they're auto on lights which are nearly on the entire time.

    H7s are expensive things though :(
