Cheapest genuine Windows 7 64 bit?

    Not looking for Windows 8 or a pirated version of Win7, i'm looking for as cheap a copy of Win7 as i can find either Windows Home or Professional 64 bit. I'm a student if that helps :)

    Find out what your university/school options are for personal purchasing, it'll almost certainly be cheaper than anywhere else. If you're a member of a compsci or compsci-afficiliated university department, ask whether the department is part of the Dreamspark program.

    The only other source is likely to be the third-party market, and there are no guarantees regarding legitimacy when dealing with private sellers in that context...

    Windows 8 Pro has downgrade rights to 7 Pro btw. Just avoid the likes of eBay is generally good advice (many people sell MSDN licenses there which may not last genuine for long, or re-activate in the future)
