Problem with chain

    Hi, please forgive me if I'm not in the right place but I have a problem with my bike chain. Basically, it slipped off, but the mudguard is kind of in the way and it's impossible to remove. Can someone help please :(

    If it's a half-chainguard and you can see the bottom of the chainring, try placing the chain on there and turning the pedals backwards.

    The chain guard will have to be removed and the chain tensioned, possibly replaced if it is worn.

    I'm assuming it is a single speed or hub gears that you have, so the chain was probably loose in the first place to cause it to slip off. That is why I suggested you do a proper job on it that would last. A chain guard is normally retained with a few screws and easily opened. As a temporary fix loosen the rear wheel and try and lever the chain back on with a screwdriver if you can access the chain. Then pull the wheel back to tension the chain but if you have hub gears you will have to adjust the cable also.
