What's it for? Gaming?

What cpu is in the pc?

What power supply is it?

A 7790 would be a good budget card but it will need 1 x 6 pin power connection. The card probably comes with a molex to 6 pin adaptor but the psu may not be up to the task.

The 650Ti needs a 6pin as well. 7790 is a much better buy though. Hard to answer without knowing your brothers computer, what specs it has and what PSU.
