Got it on offer in jan 2012 for €1400. Way way way below what it's worth.

Scotty - Upgraded shifters and mechs to Dura Ace... well happy... Pity it's time to put her away for the winter....

Is that a team edition or something? Just noticed the extra branding on the stays, not something usually seen on a retail bike.

Yeah, it's a limited edition Scott CR1 Saunier Duval pro team bike... Used by the SD team (Chris Horner, David Millar etc.) in 2007 TDF.. It's pretty rare.. Lucky I got my hands on it..!

I had a Giant Cadex with delta brakes..... They looked great, worked very well, but were a real B***h to setup correctly!

Todays designers at Campag should be made to look at Deltas everyday.
Their current groupsets are shockingly ugly, EPS in particular.

Lads, seriously. They may be something of a novel, humorous, curiosity but those Delta's are ugly, ill designed things. Dull finish and stunted little arms like a Tyrannosaurus. There I said it.

For true braking beauty look no further than the 'Cobalto's'.

Notice the way the light plays on their fetching sweeping lines and the tasteful blue scroll engraving, topped off by a decorative jewel in the crown lock-nut.

I have a nice set of Cobaltos and would be very happy to swap them for a good pair of Deltas ;-)

Favourite part of the photo is the lack of excess brake cable.

For the record, my brother had Campag Delta brakes back in early 90s. He always said they were beyond useless, especially in the wet. However style over substance always wins out.

Have to say I had them and they worked great! As said above, you needed patience in setting them up. The brake pad compound was the same as all other Campag brakes from that era so I can't think of any specific problem with wet weather.

They worked fine, until the cable stretched/pads wore down. Depending on how you set them up, this could mean having to adjust them frequently.

I like the frame but the seatpost is rank.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,704 ✭✭✭AstraMonti

Oh what I could do with 11500$! But definitely not this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,214 ✭✭✭spyderski

Beautiful frame - love the candy red. Seatpost is fugly, but what about the setup? The Roubaix has an already high head tube, but with a s**tload of spacers and that stem the guy should have bought a hybrid FFS. The top of the shifters is higher than the saddle!!

And then he put an SRM on it???? Maybe it's to let him know he's putting out 50 watts more than he would have to if he wasn't sitting up in the wind like a friggin sail!

But he's got egg-shaped chainrings so he'll be grand.........
