Haven't used it but all the talk about it seems mostly negative. If I want to clean out my mac I'll run Onyx once a month or so.

Macs generally don't suffer from malware as such, but MacKeeper comes pretty close. It's a scam app from an very shady developer. Don't install it under any circumstances.

Anyone that needs to "advertise" by hitting you with pop-ups on every site should be avoided like the plague......

OnyX is a maintenance app. It's fairly unnecessary for the most part and potentially destructive. Quite a few people hosed their systems using early versions of it. I generally advise against using it unless you know what you are doing.

Mac OS X really doesn't require any maintenance or anti-virus software.
