Windows 7 Restore Disk

Hello,

Will the Windows 7 Restore Disk that came with my Samsung laptop work on another model (Toshiba)?
I know it says on the disk only for Samsung laptop but is this just to cover themselves?

Not if it is a recovery DVD.

A Windows 7 Installation DVD should work, provided it is the same edition (e.g. Home Premium).

The disks you got with the Samsung and Toshiba systems are most likely OEM copies which means that they are usually locked to the specific system and as a result you wont be able to use the disk on another PC.

The license keys provided with both systems are also likely OEM keys and can only be used with the disk provided with the system or another identical disk from another identical system.

You can download the official Windows ISO's for Windows 7 here but you WILL need a GENUINE license key to activate it. Your OEM keys will not work
