I usually buy mine in the Dublin Food Co-Op on a Saturday. But Dunnes do a 4 pack for €1.49. Sometimes I'll get a bunch in one of the Polish/Eastern European shops either.

The general food and drink forum is much busier than the V&V forum.
    Why not post there?
The odd non veggie does eat the odd vegetable, you know.

I see so many threads in this forum that are general food queries and I don't get why they are in the V&V section.
    Eg: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056961823
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056993940
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055865807
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056953348
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056954040

    ....and I could go on.

I'm just curious to know why so many vegetarian/vegans only seem to post in the V&V forum when they have general food queries.
I'm interested in food so I often find myself in this forum despite not being veggie.
Is there a sense that people who eat meat have no appreciation for vegetables?
I'm not having a go - just curious - this isn't a very busy forum to post in.
Also without giving your location (which, no doubt, is Dublin as you didn't give your location:rolleyes:) it would be hard to help.

it says dublin under my userid on left hand side of my post.

    I am a vegetarian.

beetroot juice is generally consumed by vegetarians as a source of iron. so i thought this would be a better place.

i also got an answer so Im satisfied with where I placed my post

So it does. Sorry, I didn't notice.
    I am a vegetarian.

I gathered that. But I don't see the relevance.
I am a rower but I don't put every sports related query in the Sailing and Boating forum.

I've no doubt it is but lots of other people consume it too. I've had fresh beetroot 3 or 4 times in the last month. I'd suspect that vegetarians account for quite a small percentage of total beetroot consumed worldwide.

    That's the main thing:D

Honestly, I wasn't having a go and it's not just you.
I just really wonder why so many vegetarians and vegans post general food related threads in the V&V forum.
    I'm still none the wiser.

We post our questions here because this is a forum dedicated to those of us who are Vegan or Vegetarian and we feel our answer would be best responded to in this area.

I usually get my Beetroot in Dunnes or I have to say, Lidl has a much nicer one that's organic too. (4 pack)

    That makes no sense.
I get the feel form your post that you think I have no business posting in this forum because I am neither vegan (why do you use a capital letter for the V words?) nor vegetarian.

Beetroot is a food, not specific to or even particularly associated with vegetarianism/veganism.

Now before anyone has a go at me, I did not reopen this question.

Tesco in Dundrum stocks fresh beetroot. I also bought some from the Marlay Park farmers' market last Saturday.
