Could I ask those of you on bookface to like these two pages, you won't be shilled or annoyed by them, one is for the Team I belong to and the other is just for ITCC itself. You'll get some cool pics and updates from the races :)

Done and done, one question, slightly obvious one, but better to hear it from someone in the game than people from the pub so to speak, on average how expensive is that sport to, get into, get a vehicle, maintain it etc, I'd love to do it but it's a rich persons sport by the looks of it :(

In terms of expense, building the machine itself is the hard part along with the initial purchase of all the safety gear then getting the MSI license. Next year will be a lot cheaper should the car make it through this weekend without too much damage *touches wood*

What the car cost me, I don't know, what all the gear cost me, I don't know, what all the tools cost me, I don't know. If you add it up you won't do it. Jumping in and expecting to be racing within a few months is madness, you need to build up to it.

The thing it costs the most of is time, you need to be single or have a very understanding OH, and forget about nights out on the piss, it's a way of life, simple as

Lads, my timing belt / pump was changed in the C5 at 60K miles according to the service manual which I thought was quite a bit early (but then again a good thing if the previous owner was cautious) but what's the average miles on a 1.6 HDI engine (110 Bhp) before it should be normally changed? Thanks!

Ford recommend 200k km or 10 yearsfor there cars with that 1.6hdi engine that's abit long IMO. I think peugoet/citroen recommended a good bit less around 150k km or so but i could be wrong on that. I got the belt done on my focus At 113k km but that was due to an oil leak which caused the belt to be covered in oil and obviously ment it had to be changed. You'd probably be safe enough to leave it 70k miles or so.

Cheers man, I'm just shy of 100K miles now (UK import) so that's sweet to know it's not required for a while.

Another question, has anyone here got a Terraclean on a 1.6 HDI before? Did it make much difference?

EDIT: Talked to the man himself on FB, it's meant to be excellent on the HDI engine so have it booked for end of month ;)

Some amount of Gardaí lashing about Parkwest on blues at lunchtime today, including some very discreet unmarked stuff and the chopper above. Must have been so much so I was convinced it was a training exercise, something that warranted that amount of garda attention surely would have made the news

There was a bomb placed in some cemetery where somebody that did something was buried. I believe that is the gist of it.

They were roaring up the Malahide Road at 2pm going to Balgriffin, so different incident possibly

Minor crash on the rounabout at the airport, and serious incident involving bomb squad at the bottom of the N32, wasnt too bad when I was there around 2

I traded the golf in against it as it stood !

Didn't even get the log book back yet for the golf.

So I put the deposit on the bmw 318 today and the deal will finish in the morning.

318 is in cracking condition. Not a bother at all on her ! And only passed nct the other day not a bother !
