I getcha, tis early days yet, the other option, and the cheaper of the two was just to get a set of white h7's and white h3's for the fogs, which i think I'll probably end up doing

Get the face lift headlights instead. Or try and retrofit a set of OEM xenons. You'll appreciate them on the road a lot.

    Yes....Yes I am :pac:

Haven't been on it in ages though, so I'm a bit rusty

    Speaking of rusty..

I went to look at this dodge ram today

I had my heart set on it before we set off. First mistake. Got there and it was totally rusted underneath, would have needed two new exhaust tailpipes and it looked rotten all the way back to the manifold. The interior looked like dogs had been living in it (the seller, waft of "valued member of society off him" seemed a dog breeder albeit not a good one).

She looked rusted through to the chassis. All in all Im glad I researched beforehand and took the time to inspect everything. It killed me to leave her there (i had even named her bertha already) but I just couldnt take her on, too far gone for me. Would take at least the purchase price to set her right between the new exhaust system and the interior and the new transmission. Not to mention anything else that an amateur like me wouldnt see.

Ho hum, back to the drawing board for me. :'(

Manuals are a no go. I'd love it - but I wouldnt get a manual bmw.

Got my eyes short term on a pontiac firebird or another dodge truck - and long term on a dodge viper. [/drools]

So yeah, I like american cars now!

I'd love a charger but they are $$ for a good one. Budget is roughly 2k now, and it rises to about 5k (including any tax and work needed) in november.

Indeed they are many $$ :( Well there's a guy in kildare town with a trans am, works in the chinese down by the train station, you never know!

Charger and trans am are completely different kettles of fish in terms of price.

Max would you consider something like this? I think this is what I would go for in your position. Classy and silly fast :D:cool:

Yeah I'd want something like the jag, I'd have no real interest in anything American.
Too slow and agricultural for the capacity etc. the suspension in any of them is so basic they are useless. Just don't like American machinery.
Bigger is better isn't something I believe in, but Max your a mad bas***d if you end up with something like that ram :)
Cool but I'd never own one :)

I would, but logically I cannot pay the top rate of tax for a second car, considering I already pay 1500 on the 535! If that were an option I would buy that 6.0 v12 jag xj that is for sale down in tipperary. I would want a car either pre 83, or close to 83.

Plus, that specific one is off road 5 years meaning there is a myriad of problems waiting, and also it is a 99 meaning I couldnt get classic insurance (must be 98 or lower for prestige/rare brands and 93 or younger otherwise)

Ah I'm just a bit up the left sometimes haha. I like the tractory v8 (or v10 in the case of that ram) burble, and the needlessly big engines with poor power but huge torque - like a firebird I was looking at the other day. 5.0 v8, with 150bhp!
