Pics with the alloys done as promised.

I used Turtle Wax alloy wheel cleaner, which i've always used as i find it great and better than any AG stuff imho (though i've never tried any other product)
Meguiars tyre gel on the wheels.
I also used AG EGP on the alloys, not sure why exactly but i just thought it might be a good idea to stop the brake dust baking on !!!

Have to say im delighted with it and probably my best work on the car since i got it 10 months ago :)

I used use Turtle Wax wheel cleaner. It's absolutely brilliant stuff until you accidentally breathe in the overspray. Also it strips calipers and hubs of their rust proofing. This happened on 3 of my cars because of it and never happened when I switched to Meg's Wheel Brightener. With that said though, it's blatantly obvious even from the smell that TW is highly acidic compared to the Megs.

Cool will definitely try some of that stuff out.

I know exactly what you mean about the smell, it's vile. But after using the Iron X for the first time the TW stuff is roses compared to it :-)

Some steel wool and Silvo turned my exhaust from this:

Still not happy with the colour, it's more gunmetal grey than chrome. It's clean and shiny just not as bright as I'd like, any tips?

P.S Excuse the horrible water-spots, they were removed shortly after!

    Did some cleaning today.

Tried out the iron cleanse (putrid smell), tar cleanse and wheel cleaner (nice smell)! Did a small bit of claying too and was surprised by a good bit of dirt that came off.

My first run at some proper snow foam, didnt quite turn out too well, it was too watery, so I put in a bit more foam and less water, I got thick foam however it didnt last too long, anyone got any tips to make good long lasting thick foam?

Finally - a big thanks to MetzgerMeister for the mention of glass polish - works great and much better than using spray and having smudges etc.

Getting a good water:foam ratio is basically a matter of practice when it comes to what you're looking for. Is it OAC's Cotton Candy you're using?

Anyone know how to get rid of sticky stuff if an interior trim? One side is as sticky as hell and no amount of scrubbing with apc will remove it!:(

    What glass polish is that?

I recommended AutoGlym glass polish. I only use it on the interior of my car as I have the Gtechniq on the exterior.

I used the glass polish in my windscreen before, never on the exterior again!
Couldn't see out when it was raining for ages after, the wipers wouldn't get rid of the water. Instead it just left a thin layer of water that messed up my visibility.

I use AG glass polish on the outside of the windows all the time and have had no problems. Is it possible it wasn't buffed off properly?

Is that the G5? A little confused about it looking online. Is it only for low speeds it has an effect deflecting?

I'd guarantee you either didn't clean the glass properly first, put too much on, didn't wait for it to dry properly or you didn't buff it off properly.

When used right, it leaves nothing but a clear, streak-free finish.

Yup, that's the stuff. Up to 50km/h it will make the water bead up but you still need your wipers. Above 50km/h it makes the water bead up and roll straight off. Here's a vid:

Thats class! May order some. I presume theres only enough for one application per bottle? Is it easier to clean fly marks etc. then too? Getting hammered by thrm the last week!!

Order 2 sets if just in case. The windscreen requires 3 coats due to the wipers and all other glass is 1 coat.

It's easier to clean the glass full stop with this stuff let alone flies but as with anything like that, the longer you leave it (especially in direct sunlight) the harder it is to remove.

During the winter, ice and snow will not bond to the glass so no need for water for the glass but probably will need it for the wiper blades.

Use Rain Ex on the exterior and indeed it works the same as that Gtech stuff.

Yeah its the Orchard Cotton Candy snow foam, it says 100:1 but tried something like that, is it 100 parts water or the foam? Tried it that way and it was way too watery. 25 parts water to 1 part foam got me the thick foam but it didnt last too long, it may be down to setting on the nozzle though

About an inch and a half of product in the bottom of the snow foam lance bottle. Top up with warm water, no really necessary but better in cold conditions. Make sure to adjust the air mixture ratio in the knob at the top and to a lesser degree the nozzle to adjust the fan of the spray.

I am very nervous of using this on the inside of my windscreen in fear of it dripping on to my dash. It does make a mess of trim.

I think I have the nozzle right - its probably the knob that needs sorting and the mixture, so hopefully next time it will work better - thanks Curran!

Hence why I said that I pour some (sparingly) onto a Meguiar's EvenCoat Applicator pad then apply it to the glass. It's the same idea as using an applicator and a liquid wax.

Cool. Is it ok to clean the window with standard window cleaner such as this which I have or does it have to be their G4?
