If it is an ex embassy car with one owner then who owns it now?

"What" I hear you say. "a 99 Fiat with no mention of a test for a grand!

Hold on, look at the clock, but more importantly look at the way the ad is written. This is a very genuine car. I'd suspect its the son/daughter of a deceased member of the family just moving it on. Maybe not exactly right but along those lines. The seller isn't a a bull****er. There could even be tax and test. The seller just doesn't look like they're used to selling cars. Anyway ......

Gone to a new home this evening.
    I'm in a need of a 1.0 banger for 300€ now

Well look no further than this..... NCT for 12 months, TAXED for 12 months, mega economical and reliable to boot, and being over 20 years it's possible to get classic insurance on it as well if you shop around, asking €650.

You probably won't get cheaper reliable motoring for 12 months than this.

I like it too.. if only funds and space would allow me a totally impractical car for once..! Some day.. in the meantime all one can do is look and dream..!

Great car, would it be reliable though after nearly 20 years? Rubber seals perish. A guy I knew had a 300e of the same year with some thing in the engine compartment with a rubber diaphram fail and Mercedes wanted over 600 quid for it. Could quickly add up if a few things are wrong which they must be. If one is paying the 5 or 6 grand it takes to run something of that size for a year including fuel , tax, maintainance, depreciation , insurance then maybe something like a 2003 ish E200 is a better bet? 10 years old seems to be the sweetspot of reliability and zero desirability by the masses, also very little depreciation.

Nah I have me van still and enough Bravo parts to make several cars :pac:

Unusual to see a 1.6 one though, a nice find for an enthusiast :)

Sure its a GT 1.6 rare enough at this stage but would be worth it if a 2l 20v beastie
