Withdrawal of Multyfarnham's Bus Éireann service

    The longstanding Bus Éireann service from Multyfarnham to Mullingar, Maynooth and Dublin will be withdrawn after the operation of the evening bus on Saturday week, 24th August, 2013.

    The route commences at Longford rail station at 07.45, leaves the main N4 road at Bunbrosna, runs via Wilson's Hospital School into Multyfarnham and then back out to the main road at the roundabout near The Covert in Ballinafid (reverse on evening service).

    Current service is:

    08.19 ex Multyfarnham to Mullingar & Dublin (Mon-Sat inclusive)
    18.40 ex Multyfarnham to Longford (16.45 ex Dublin/18.20 ex Mullingar)M-Fri
    18.55 ex Multyfarnham to Longford (17.00 ex Dublin/18.35 ex Mullingar)M-Fri

    boarders in Wilsons will be affected

    first Multy lose their train, now the bus too!!

    The vast majority of Bus Éireann services in the area - Mullingar-Athlone, Athlone-Longford, Athlone town services, Mullingar-Dublin are subsidised but some carry more than others so wouldn't lose as much.

    Agree with people sometimes taking services for granted.

    Multyfarnham lost its train service in 1961ish and your complaining now !
    What was passenger loading on bus service ?
