Hey everyone, I know it's still early and the poor oul LCers haven't received their offers yet, but for all us mature/transfer/fetac/deferral applicants congratulations! You're going to DIT! :)

I guess you can go post your course title, what building you're in, your hopes and fears if you feel like it and most importantly, how chuffed you are to get an offer :D:D

I'm James, 22, I'll be studying Chinese & Business in Aungier St campus, it was my number 1 choice so I'm bloody ecstatic. The thing I'm most worried about is not getting to meet people from the different campuses. I really don't wanna be stuck with dry business students for 4 years :pac:

Also to all the people waiting on offers, good luck guys, hope to see you around :)

I'm starting the MBA in Aungier St. I've done my undergrad and postgrad in Trinity so this will be all new to me.

I'll be doing my course in Kevin St, Computing. I'm delighted I can finally go to DIT :D was the first option as well. I think the best part about it will be interacting with people from different courses by joining societies. Gonna be a class 4 years there :)

Can't handle the fact I'm not a newbie anymore :(
Advice: Stay on top of your coursework! And also, do Pharmaceutical Healthcare:D

Oh completely forgot about ye non CAO applicants

@Eoinzy Yeah I hope there's loads of clubs & societies otherwise I might have to start me own, not sure I want to be committing to that in year 1. How many are in your course? There's only 15 in the Chinese stream but I think all the business and language courses are grouped together so it won't feel so small.

@Negativecreep there's not a girl in your class from tullamore by any chance? that is if you're in 2nd year of course :)

I hear they have some good ones so all is well, banter society last year went down the country I'd say that would be great getting together.

70 I think in my computing course

    Heya :)

In the real world, I'm known as Aly and I'm 21 going on 22 or 15 (depends on the situation :P ). I've been accepted into Year 2 of DT228 Computer Science in Kevin St after completing both a FETAC Level 5 & 6 in Crumlin College. When I got my offer I was absolutely fecking delighted :D.

My hopes for the coming year are:

Hopefully I'll get to meet new and interesting people , make new friends and just generally come out of my shell a bit more. Of course not forgetting about course work and wishing to do well :) .

My fears for the coming year are:

I fear that I may not get along with others and fit in and also becoming stressed over coursework and then falling behind :( .

But all I can do is my best and take everything in my stride :D .

Nope, no one from Tullamore. I'm in first going into second :L

I would never think that I will get into Human Resource Management as it was my 9th option.
But this morning I have got an offer from DIT saying that I'm in! I was actually pretty excited, I think that it is a good course to do.
The only thing that I am worried about is that the course I wanted to do would give me an opportunity to study for 1 year in Spain in Uni of Valencia.. It was really important for me, as it would be a life time experience. But as long as my research is correct, there is an option of studying 1 year abroad with this course in DIT as well. Maybe not at the same University but It would do. So at the end of the day, if I try hard enough I will enjoy this erasmus program! Meeting people is not a problem for me, I am not usually shy person. Also one of my close friends is going into the same campus, so that's great as two of us can stick around together and be more confident meeting new people.

Course title: Film & Broadcasting with Irish
    Building: the Aungier Street one.
Hopes and fears: I hope that I can keep up with the Irish but I fear that I will not.

I know I was like ok wow what a full monday I have...wait I'm supposed to be in two rooms at the same OOOH and then I gave up.

If anyone comes up with a solution I'll happily bake a single cookie for them? :p

Apologies if link doesnt work for you. Should be easier enough to decipher if you can see it.

The two things on at once is actually how your time table will change after the first semester. down the end of every box it will show you when it is. Disregard semester 2 for the time being.

If you need help just PM or such :)

If any lucky souls got into Nutraceuticals DT420 and have any questions just let me know or PM me.

Likewise any folk going into final year for DT421 or 422 and have questions about Thesis and Final Year Projects just let me know.

Are some of them for different weeks? I know I have a lecture for most weeks in semester 1 but something different for two or three weeks. It looks really weird and it confused me for a bit.

The link isn't working but I think it's the same one as the one I was looking at earlier. It's not my first time in college so I'm not a total noob when it comes to looking at timetables. I was only looking at the first semester. I don't want to think of next year until after the exams!

Hey Aly, Im going into year 2 of DT228! (not as a newb though) The people in the class are pretty cool/friendly so just talk to a lot of them and see who you like the most. I know it's going to be difficult going into a class that have mostly been together for a year already, but don't let that affect you, jump in and chat!

Good course, concentrate on programming, it's very important. Try not to let some boring lectures put you off, its easier to pay attention in class than to learn some full modules in January and May.

How the hell are you people navigating the new timetable website? :L

It's pretty awful, but the main points are to search by class group, the course you want and weeks 4-16. This should get you a timetable for your class for semester 1. There will probably be groups within the class which will be confusing until the groups are decided, but it should give you a rough outline of the timetable. There is also a decent chance that it will be changed slightly before classes begin.
