No offence, Audman, but you did threaten to force love on me and a few others, albeit lightheartedly ;)

If we sign a player who we think is crap will we cheer/support him ? YES

If we hire a manager we didn't want will we cheer/support him ? YES

Pretty simple stuff, it's the basics of being a supporter.

When Liverpool are playing a match I'm entirely behind the team.

When they're not playing I don't pretend everything is rosey if I don't think it is. That's not being a fan, that's being a lemming.

    Missed this, apologies.

My point is that people will change their tune if/when we don't sign sign a couple of quality players to go straight into our starting 11.

Exactly the same way all those who thought there was no way Rodgers was good enough to be manager of Liverpool, changed their mind as soon as he got a job.
Perhaps they looked at the results and players brough in and compared it with the direction the club was going in and decided that maybe he was doing a good job and they were pleased with the direction the club were now going in?

Comical stuff at the end. I was just thinking before it went 2-2 that these might actually have a decent chance of staying up.

Good debut from Suso. The thing I would say is that we already know his quality on the ball. He needs to though get more involved in games. He's good enough that he should be going looking for the ball all the time, demanding it off others like Coutinho is currently doing in the first team for us. That probably comes across incredibly harsh given he got an assist, indirect assist and generally had a fine game.

    Opr

He is too content to stay out wide when play is in the box. Hopefully he will get a chance to play central for them and gets more involved.

Also I don't think he had to do any defending tonight, he pretty much stayed in the opposition half. Not sure that is good for him.

Overall he did very well though.

    Who's this Audman?
Sounds like Tottenham will be linked with him.

But the club isn't moving in any direction? We're stationary as ****. Plus they changed their tune immediately. So I'm afraid you're wrong.

Latest from Di Marzio is Lamela's 'gang' is in London tomorrow and Anzhi want more than both us and Spurs have bid. They also want the player to hand back 5m sign on fee.

No, you back your team through thick and thin, no matter what.
Nothing to do with been a lemming.

Looking forward to posting here and trying to keep up with these threads .

    2 ****ing chances mate.;)

If a magic wand could be waved that swapped Henderson for Milner, that would improve our squad this season.

That's not to say I'd prefer Milner to Henderson in general.

Henderson's younger and more likely to be willing to fart around on the bench a bit more.
He's also our only midfielder who can run for extended periods at faster than a snails pace.

He did well yesterday Saturday. Hopefully against teams that are suited to playing on the break against he can really shine again this season.

Ah, no I think we'd like to keep him for now. He hasn't been on tonight. Probably dressing up his dogs and re-creating scenes from The Wire.

    But that's just a guess.

Rafa getting sacked seemed to have just turned you into a total opposite. I don't think it is fair to carry that over to new managers and new owners.

Well, to be fair, I've no problem with people "keeping it real", so far as it's done with a little tact and decency towards fellow supporters. But that's just me and my expectations.

Think more Wimbeldon circa late 80's early 90's.

Yes, Because he was Manager of Liverpool FC.

nope not Audman , I've just walked past solitary confinement and there's some naked chap rocking back and forth saying "not sturridge , not sturridge" . He appears to be naked and oddly enough the cell is marked G.P.O . Wonder who he is .

So you didn't think he should be sacked?

Or will you just back anyone unequivocally if they're employed by the club?

Why do we all keep arguing the same points over and over regarding managers? We all are well aware of each others positions and there has been no shift since the end of last season so why do we persist to start and respond over it?

It really is pointless and only annoys everyone involved.

Oh i'm not afraid of being wrong. Its happened before and it will happen again, i'm sure.

If you think the club isnt moving then in really feel sorry for you, tbh. Maybe the club has just left you in its past.

Before i joined the forum, a lot of the stuff you posted was really good. Insightful and passionate and informed.

Now you seem stuck in a post-Benitez haze that you are unwilling to depart from.

    Its a pity, tbh.

Can't speak for anyone else, but own feelings are that i'll give anyone employed by the club the benefit of the doubt, despite any personal misgivings I may have about the appointment.

From then on, I'll support them until they give me reason to do otherwise. In Hodgson's case, he lost my trust very quickly indeed, as much from his demeanor and words, as the torrid football on display.

Personally, Rodgers hasn't done enough wrong to lose my support yet.

This is nothing to do with Benitez. He is manager of Napoli now. It's to do with the fact we've not substantially improved our first team to expect any great improvement in our league performances this season.

It's to do with the fact that there is nothing in our managers career to date to indicate he is capable of bringing us to where we need to be.

It's to do with the fact that our owners seem more concerned with slashing wage bills than bringing the club back to the CL.

@Mr . Alan : what do you think should be done in the immediate short term to fix the predicament Liverpool find themselves in now ?

Right now, as it stands, I think our league performance will be improved on last season, but not enough to really challenge for 4th right till the end.

As long as the window is open though, and he has regularly stated that he shares this opinion with us, I can't really complain. The club have been open and up front about our deficiencies, and their attempts to rectify them, so it's not like he's ignoring the failings or anything.

I'll be annoyed and disappointed if we don't bring in the 2 players I think we need, just as I was last summer, and the January before under Kenny.

Significant investment into the first team. Both the wage bill & transfer budget.

Begin the search for a proven top quality replacement for Rodgers.

You are forgetting that the squad has improved since 12 months ago.

Coutinho and Sturridge have been good signings.

Teams are improved in more than one window.

Form in second half of last season was better.

Team more used to Rodgers set up and style.

Also, the transfer window is not over yet, so why don't you just wait?

It's just boriing now after 12 months and turning me off this thread.
