Milner is a very underrated player. Will run forever, can shoot, pass and cross, plus will do his fair share of tracking back. He would be a big upgrade on Henderson and for those mentioning him in the same breath as Shelvey and Downing you must still watch the games on teletext.

I think he is severely under rated if anything!!

    That's my point.

This is the crux of it.

    He's out of our league.

Pretending we're out of his is ****ing deluded. But that's kind of the general theme in here now :(

mentioning deluded in every post is another recurring theme

James Milner predominantly plays as a wide player. He doesn't create chances or score goals. I would have rated Downing higher.

Ah here now, you're just disagreeing for the sake of it!

If people weren't so deluded I wouldn't have to. When realism returns to this thread, I won't have to point it out constantly.

He can shoot can he? Pity he can't get any of them on target. Where have you been watching him?

Can we just stop talking about Milner, it's pointless!!!

Mostly on TV. Once or twice live.

Not at all, really think Milner is so average. Considering he cost £28 million.

Milner would absolutely improve our team, in any number of positions, anyone who thinks otherwise is cray-cray.

That's half the reason this must be the busiest thread on Boards!

Milner is busy, energetic and all that, but don't we have Henderson to develop into that type of player?

Anybody think that this Cissokho lad could take take the left back spot?
I like Jose as he's a beast but his defensive awareness is not the best.
But i'm talking Aly's (is that what we will call him?) Lyon form from a good few years ago.

Milner is a good player but just not we need at all. Now why the f are even talking about him?

I wouldn't play him up front, at the back, in goal, in central midfield but other than that yeah, any number of positions.

some of our fans say silly, silly things.

That's the way it rolls in here.

Same few disagreeing with what Alan says even if it's a decent point.

Milner is a decent player. He's better than Henderson or Allen currently, has vast experience in this league while competing at the very top.

He'd get in ahead of both those players mentioned thus meaning he would improve our team. Isn't that his point?

I really like Enrique from a defensive viewpoint. He's big and fast and strong. It's his end product going forward that frustrates me.

Cissohko will have to be a *very* good player to displace Enrique in the team.

    You got it Mix-up.

Enrique is the one better Defensively. Cissokho is better going forward.

    No. There is no persecution

I think I kicked some of this off with Alan.

I said many times milner is a solid player but not what we need, yet Im deluded.

I'm not disagreeing for the sake of it, I just don't rate Milner. Isn't it ok to have an opinion of your own? I might be wrong on Milner, but thats ok too.

All things considered I'd sooner allow Henderson to develop rather than spend 12-14 million on Milner for his work rate.

Liverpool need to spend on a CB and another attacker and preferably buy a keeper first.

Can you really not see the difference between Downing & Milner?

    Over rated Englishman like Sturridge?

You really think Sturridge is overated?
    I find that statement crazy,
He just never broke into the City or Chelsea teams to establish himself as i believe he will do this for us (call me crazy) but i'd have him ahead of nutcase Suarez.

That's fine and I know most on here are passionate about the club. In saying that, the boy who cried eventually got his wish.

I have problem with guys questioning the club but being negative on every turn gets a little tiresome.

Fair enough. I have made my point at this stage so will leave it to see how things pan out.

As I said, I hope we do sign who we need. Desperately hope!

He could play in midfield in place of Allen or Henderson. With ease. And be an instant upgrade on both. He could also play out wide & be an instant upgrade on Aspas.

Agree that he would be a better option on Henderson but can't agree about Aspas, as we haven't really seen enough of him yet. Can you not give him a bit of time before making statements like that?

It seems very much a Sturridge type buy, take a gamble on a player that didn't fulfil his potential for a season or two and it might just pay of.

Have to agree on liking Enrique defensively, rare enough he makes a mistake and was impressive on Saturday, considering his form at the start of last season, I'd say our most improved player. I'd have more confidence in him to do his job than Johnson. Attacking wise give me Johnson any day.

James Milner is not going to bring the club to the next level. If we were to sign Willian & Milner then there is no way Milner is getting a game in a front four of these guys .

    Sturridge
    Coutinho - Willian - Suarez

That leaves one of the 2 remaining central midfield spots occupied by Gerrard & Lucas - nope , cant see him getting in there either. Therefore he would be a squad signing . If we were to go out & buy just Milner on his own then yes he would probably make that front four but tbh i wouldnt be too excited about it.
