    Agger & Lucas. Yep.

Skrtel. Meh. Decent but not great by any stretch. Definitely possible to upgrade.

Just to clarify, you saying above that maybe quality signings for our first team aren't required to get top 4?

Dont know if many picked it up the other day prior to the game but Pulis was on BT Sports talking about them preparing for playing us. His comment on Skrtel was less than complimentary about his ability with the ball. They basically targeted him as a weak link by pressing up high whenever the ball was going to go to him.

Given he is not fancied now anyway i can only assume he will go once we get another body in.

Were many people at the match?

    How was Lucas looking?

He seems to be have stepped his game up to me and looks on the way to being back near his best.

    Opinions?

    Lucas at his best.

    Re: Cissokho.

Meh. Another squad player. Enrique is not particularly high up on our list of problems IMO.

Agree with that. Not sure what purpose his signing serves, it's not like we're playing in Europe this season.

Will you smash your racquet in a fit of pique if he is? Oh do.

    Goal Almeria.

Suso with assist to the assist with a beautiful pass
Watching Suso like this makes me sad. I have the fear that he just doesn't suit the English game and we're going to end up letting him go.

Milner would definitely shore up the midfield when we get put under pressure, and at the moment is better than either Henderson or Allen. Would prefer to be putting in a bid for Cabaye, even if it was just to annoy Wenger.

New poster here, long time lurker.
Great watching Carra (legend) on skysports, with Neville (I like his analysis sorry :o)
Super start to the season saturday,
Hopefully some good news tomorrow regarding ,Willian, if now we move on.
    Onwards and upwards YNWA.

Skrtel is finished at Liverpool, that was evident after last season when he was dropped when Carra came in and the team improved straight away.

I'm 100% serious. I've never been more serious about anything in my life

    Fair enough.

Expect some posters here to be asking the same questions at the end of the window.

You can take it for granted that it will be pointed out if the signings are made so expect it if they aren't.

And if they aren't made and the questions are asked, don't be dare infer that the posters are taking satisfaction out of it. They are passionate about our club and they don't believe that it is being run as well as it should and some even think that the owners are consciously misleading fans. If either points in the previous sentence are even slightly true, they are perfectly entitled to shout about it from the rooftops.

That's fine and I know most on here are passionate about the club. In saying that, the boy who cried eventually got his wish.

I have problem with guys questioning the club but being negative on every turn gets a little tiresome.

I posted that earlier. Is there an echo in here? :P

Re Borini...I don't think he's gonna work out for us. So what? Show me a manager with a 100% strike rate with transfers.

Constantly using him as a stick to beat the manager with is just boring at this stage.

What would we do with him?

Like I said, he's decent but not what we need

That's true, but you still need a backup LB.

As for Milner, he'd be a great signing. Fantastic player and imo perfectly capable of Liverpool's game.

He didn't into a bad player overnight. Surely just a matter of attitude which hopefully can be fixed?

Missed it. Anytime I log back in there's a few hundred more posts. I'd need to quit my job and my life in general to read them all :pac:

I agree but the manager made it clear when he was dropped that he doesn't fancy him as a player. Simple as that imo.

I think we need an upgrade on him anyway. Our CB's are ok but not top class.

He is being brought in to be cover for a year and see how it goes. The other part of it is that it would mean we wouldnt have to drag Johnson over to LB every time Enrique wasnt picked/injured.

Milner, who has been a stand out player for good spells at Man City over the last few years, wouldn't do for us. Not up to the high standards of Rodgers, Borini, Allen & Co.

Honestly, it's like some people here want us to be incredibly average.

If Henderson is a starter, you can rest assured Milner would start for us, IMO.

    Really rate him.

    Answer the question

He could play in midfield in place of Allen or Henderson. With ease. And be an instant upgrade on both. He could also play out wide & be an instant upgrade on Aspas.

So, Lucas and Stevie are pretty nailed down as starters. We are trying to upgrade the midfield and Milner is a good option

Tut tut, you're normally subtle as a sledgehammer but this is extreme even for you!

Try to disguise it better in future, there's a good lad.

For all your criticisms of the current setup, you would be happy with Milner as the upgrade.

    Wow

What did you think of Aspas' performance on Saturday?
