Its a ridiculous comment actually, you telling me that all Shels fans "should" have expected to lose last night? All fans well most anyway would have expected to pick up points, theres no point in going if you dont

Firstly, each person on here is posting their own opinion. No Shels fan on here speaks for all other fans in the club and likewise with posters who follow other clubs.

Secondly, I expected us to lose last night in that when we played Deportivo in 2004, I expect us to lose then as well. However those expectations don't stop me from going to games and getting behind the team. For what's it worth I expected us to lose last week as well. I don't however expect the players to have that attitude though.

I'm watching football long to be realistic about what to expect. What I hope to happen however can sometimes be completely different.

    What a silly comment

So when Dundalk basically gave up last season and prepared for the playoff, they didn't prioritise games..

There's a difference between priorities with the fans and the players though.

Every match we play I hope/expect us to win or draw. It's completely delusional. But most football fans are completely illogical, biased and one-sided when it comes to their own team.

Expectations and hopes are two different things.

I did expect us to lose last night. It was the last thing I wanted but I expected it. Some people are going on as if I'm happy with that.

From what I've read here I'd say you had a sizeable bet on it.

I very rarely gamble and have never bet on or against Shels.

Some celebrations last night. I'm sure everyone has at some stage felt how we (bohs fans) felt last night. Definitely what supporting the LOI is all about. You can't do that watching on the tele

Wish we had a club in Galway with that following (except for guys like the knob in the green jacket). What an atmosphere!

That is class i have to admit.

The video doesn't even do the atmosphere justice.

One of the best nights in Dayler in a long time. In a perverse sort of way it meant even more than the 4-0 last year.

Seems like it was a good night for attendances in the league. Dalymount had a fairly sizeable crowd, wouldnt have exact numbers though.

Top 3 attendances on Friday evening-

    Dundalk v Sligo R. 3031
    Bohs v Shams R. 2671
    Pats v Shels 1846

Should be better but we thank for what we get.

I call your 4 and raise you the face we did it first :D

But seriously. I agree about the porn! There should nearly be nsfw tags :)

So the 5-1 is too far?

Great video of the Bohs fans. Really hope they do stay up this season.

Longford finally win a game in what seems like an eternity. 4-0 vs the mighty Salthill. Drogs in the cup next, Cookie was down watching the game last night, I don't think we will be too worried.

Next important match is Waterford away, simply need to win and win every other game..

Even my bus home tonight was driven by a Pats fan I've newly discovered.

I can't get away from it..

I took a video myself from near the halfway line of the final whistle. I must admit, its slightly shakey.

Waterford away is a massive game and yee seem to have their number this year. As an Athlone fan, i hope it finishes a draw and we beat Wexford at home and go 7 ahead, which would look very good then. I do hope both us and yee go up, be great for the area.

Jaysus. I missed the last couple of Rovers games but I'd say the atmosphere is proper poison now....

Reports that Trevor Croly has parted company with @ShamrockRovers are 100% untrue,

Hmm. Seems like he may not be gone just yet.

    Knob?

Why, because he's making a few rude gestures? FFS, the sanitisation of football is complete.

also,it's cool for mods to call people names now, is it?

If you understood the hatred between the two sides then you would see that is only mild what he is doing ;)

In fairness, it's a real heat of the moment type thing. I'm always more animated at those games than any other. You can't help but get lost in it. I curse, say stupid things and probably sound/look ridiculous at times during the 90 minutes but it's pure passion and getting one over on your rivals and when you're in a relegation battle, it means a lot more.

One of the best night's I've had in my fairly short time in supporting Bohs. Meant more to me than the 4-0 mainly because we were more comfortable in the table this time last year. Almost like a double victory.

Getting heated at your own team coz they gave away the ball or whatever is completely understandable. I just don't get the ridiculous gestures at the opposing fans. Celebrate your victory, forget about the opposition fans and enjoy the moment.
Do you ever get that feeling of being embarrassed for someone else? That's how I feel for him.

There's plenty more who spend the entire game watching the other set of fans and occasionally glancing at the game.
