What Daniel agger was at today for that penalty was unbelievable absolutely shocking defending which nearly cost us 3 points
Just like last year stupid lapses of concentration could undo 80 minutes of hard work.
Keep got Daniel out of jail but a kick a hole the chap needs stupid stupid stupid defending.
That out of the way liverpool were great value for the 3 points and only for the usual motm performance from the visiting keeper could of had 5 or 6
Looked lively going forward and great to see Lucas back to his best
Another frustrating thing how many times did Sturridge slip today surely he had the right boots on!!!

Agger is over hyped, sick of saying it. He's a good player, not a great one. He will cost us a few points this season with blunders I've no doubt.

shoulda accepted the 20 million for agger and replaced him. he is a good player but he isnt fitting our system for some reason even though he is the one player that should

Dont think they have them since it was on BT Sports.

Completely mind blanked on that fact. Sure, I'll check at 10pm on Sky on the off chance they'll show it. Rather see an hours worth of extended highlights then the full game which LFC TV will show at 12am.

Ah it's not the same, it's nice to sit down and watch all the games and the analysis and I always preferred premier soccer Saturday to match of the day along with it being on earlier.

I get where you're coming from as I was the same once upon a time ago :)
Not a fan of MOTD myself, but sure, it's better than nothing.

Would you have said this if it weren't for the peno today?

    Dig deep for the answer.

Said it awhile back, we should have Cashed on Agger when Man City came Sniffing.

Agger, Skrtel, and Coates needs to be Sold.

Ya your right he has not the best at converting chances but i was making the point that any team missing their best striker will struggle converting chances.

    No argument there!

I haven't seen the match yet but looking at the highlights for Toure (thanks Raif btw), i couldn't help wondering how much Arsenal could have used him today.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

I was certainly open to Agger being sold when Man City were keen on him, albeit not in the sense of desperately wanting him sold. But at this stage, getting rid of Skrtel, Agger and Coates in pretty much one go is a hell of a lot of change, especially after the big change of replacing your goalkeeper of 8 years or so who was an ever present in that time. Agger is going nowhere now and I'm convinced he'll see out his contract here.

Great win today and a great save by mignolet for the penalty , time for more pints !!!!!

I've not got a problem with Agger to Barca for 20m, if that was the amount, but not at the time of the window they supposedly bid. It would have been stupid.

I think most LFC Fans have a Soft Spot for Agger, because of his Huge Love for the Club. I do too.

But objectively speaking, Agger has been Culpable for alot of our Conceded Goals. And that's a very telling difference, on whether we get 0, 1, or 3 Points.

I find it hard to understand some fans. Agger clearly loves the club beyond all that could be expected from a player not born in the city. Has YNWA tattooed on his knuckles. He's one of the good guys who has a real passion for this club who we should be building around. He made a silly mistake today but instead of supporting him, we have fans wishing he was sold. People would rather support false gods in Suarez than show some respect for a player who has shown the utmost respect for this club at all times. Modern football's lack of support and loyalty is a two way street it seems between fans and players. I wouldn't mind if he clearly wasn't good enough but the guy has talked down a move to Barcelona. He isn't though good enough for us. Mind boggles.

Agger also made a brilliant and probably crucial stretched interception when we were at 1-0. Without it, we might have been at 1-1. He's not a fiend for giving away penos, all day, either.

Pleased with the result today, it's only a pity Begović was in such good form.

While Mignolet looked ropey in places the peno save will be just what he needed to instill a bit of confidence.
Sturridge if he stays fit/not injured will have a big season for us this year.
Likewise Coutinho. Although he may not score he pulls the strings and is involved in a lot.
Toure looks like he'll give everyhting he has for the cause. Seems to be involved all over the pitch.
Lucas looks to be well on the road back to pre-injury form.
Agger had a major blooper but besides what some think he's still an important part of the team.
Hendo was in and out but when he gets into the game he looks threatening
Sterling is a kid, people need to remember that. Plus he's the trouble with the law on his mind . Give the kid a break.
Aspas looked lively. Really like his style of play.

    Onwards and upwards

We already need a top centre back. Getting rid of Agger now would be ridiculous.

    This place is nuts.

Win a game, clean sheet. Sell Agger.

Agreed, liked his movement, touch and tenacity in pre-season, nice to see it when it matters, his awareness and eye for a pass in tight situations is impressive so far.

We are well capable of beating Villa

Wanting to get rid of Agger is reactionary bollocks typical of this place.

Absolute quality player who also wants to play for us and not **** off at the first opportunity.

    Willian?
@BenSmithBBC: I asked Rodgers about Willian today. He said: "We're confident of getting one or two in but there are no names.

Cissokho on his way to a Medical.
    MrBoywunder ‏@MrBoywunder
Amadeo Salvo ( Valencia president): "Cissokho to Liverpool is done. Once he passes his medical we'll make it official."

Nonsense it all boils down to whether your good enough and with agger it's debatable with Suarez (who I detest) its not debatable he's different class
Agger may well love the club but that doesn't gurantee you anything if it did half on here would be playing for liverpool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,213 ✭✭✭pm1977x

Good that we're getting some cover/competition for Enrique but this deal has been 'done' so many times it's really drained any excitement out of his arrival, hope he recaptures his top form if he ever actually signs! :pac:

Another thing I love with this picture is that while everything else is going on, Enrique is there at the side, like; "Ooooooo Football!!"

The fact that "tattoo's" and "love of the city" are mentioned in apraising a players general use is a problem in itself.

Basically we are not in any position to be entertaining offers for Agger right now, however if we were strong at centre back i'd be cashing it at 20million no question. He is a very good footballing centre half but it papers over cracks in his game also.

Using Barcelona's interest as a guage isn't great either, they have a poor enough record when it comes to recruiting central defenders.

Maybe so, but they have a good enough record at winning trophies so if they want Agger we should be doing everything we can to keep him. And then ADD to the CB options (Skrtel and Coates are the 2 who should go LONG before we talk about Agger)

Very impressed with Aspas so far. He looked very disappointed to be taken off which is always good to see.

I wont quote the gif cos I don't want to blow up Mike's Commodore 64 but Coutinho has a lot of heart for a little fella. He was kicked around the place, especially in the first half and just got on with it. Also good to see.

Love Kolo already and a special mention for Lucas who was bloody great today.

Looks like Villa will be a tougher test but for now, happy as a pig in shit :D

The fact that Villa play Chelsea in midweek should benefit Liverpool to a certain degree next weekend.

I know its early in the season, but mentally Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool for your first three games is a tough ask for a young team. Makes Moyes yapping during the week a bit stupid, Villas start is much worse.

That's true. I forgot they had to play Chelsea.
