I ended up in an Arsenal supporters bar in Manhattan for the match, full of loud mouth nerdy yanks. I got a bit of stick seen as i was the only one of about 100 with a Liverpool jersey on. Raging i didnt stick around now.

Maybe in the bigger scheme of things an Arsenal win might have been better today. They might actually panic and go spend some money now.

Barkley played well, for the bit of the game I watched.

Yup, probably Everton's MOTM for me.

On the Norwich side, I thought Ricky showed some Good Glimpses. He was Quiet for much of the First Half, but grew in the 2nd.

I think Norwich made some pretty shrewd Buys. I'm looking forward to how they do in the League.

He could be at Arsenal next season....they need a manager who won't kick up a fuss about having no money.

Is the smoke alarm working in here? Might be needed as the Arsenal forum is nearing meltdown

Arsenal have a cash pile as big as the rest of the league combined (see graphic in the Arsenal thread posted yesterday afternoon). They have masses of money they just won't spend it. Remarkable state of affairs, verging on neurosis.

Jonjo to get the winner now in the late game and that would make a great first day :)

Working today so missed it, great to open with three points. However, sounds like a lot of the defencive frailties are still there especially stemming from midfield. How did Aspas go?

That's no use, we need him now to steady the ship.

Do you reckon if I created a graphic of my pile of cash and brought it to the bank they would loan me a larger amount? :pac:

Did cross my mind actually that they might panic buy now and offer something mad like 60M for Suarez. Or even go in for Willian.

Just on the point about Mignolet flapping at crosses - both times he flapped he was challenged by 6ft 7 Peter Crouch . Its not every week he'll have to outjump a guy who is the same height as him while he is fully outstretched. Great win, Stoke are always a bastard to play against , terrible team who frustrate the opposition.

good movement and pace from Aspas today, worked hard as well. Look a bit disappointed to get subbed later on in the game, great attitude there.

People need to stop worrying about Mignolet.

He had one or two ropey moments but that was just pure nerves.

Don't forget, he won us the match today!!!

Aspas put in a hard shift in which he was unlucky not to score and was substituted in the 2nd half, the fans in the stadium gave him a very good applause when he was walking off, they defo liked what they seen this game.

Seems to have a good understanding with sturridge and coutinhio

Yeah, Aspas should have been left on.

People aren't worrying about Mignolet. They are questioning his performance based on very apparent mistakes he made in his first and only competitive match for the club.

What has happened on this forum whereby there seems to an attempt to censor or surpress any critical analysis of a players performance.

If the positives can be called out, i.e. the penalty save, then the concerns can also be called out.

Benteke is going to be a handful next week. Think Villa will be a lot better this season.

Villa next week will be a very tough game.

They broke Arsenal's heart and brought an intensity to the game that they couldn't deal with. Their tackling in the middle of the field was ferocious but Arsenal played into their hands somewhat with their slow lethargic build up.

Benteke will grab the headlines with his two goals, but it is important to remember that one was rebound from a missed penalty, and the other a penalty.

They will be a tough proposition next weekend.
