Hard not to be given our record in opening day fixtures to be fair.

Last ten years or so has been atrocious.

Starting to get a bit apprehensive myself now.

I am still recovering from people saying the opening day draw with Sunderland was a good result.

Will he be doing the commentary today? If so then time to turn down the sound. Looking forward to Carra and Neville debating but Owen is really boring.

Very young bench with a bit of pace. One defender, last year there were times we had four on the bench.

Another sign that Willian is signing (Coutinho is on the right)

Agreed, for me, Lucas and Allen cannot play together. The lack of mobility is painful to watch.

    Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 9m
Luis Suarez out on the pitch at Anfield with his little girl. Gets round of applause from his kids. Wearing club tracksuit etc.

    Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 6m
Suarez was smiling and waving to fans, even shook the hand of referee Mark Halsey as he walked around Anfield.

    Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 5m
Suarez is now back out walking around the pitch at Anfield. Getting booed by Stoke fans. Liverpool fans a little stunned.

Agreed, really hope Hendo does well this year. There were some nice plays last year and hope he can be a leader. I know that some don't like him but I think he is young and always had a lot more potential than Shelvey.

My reason is that Henderson is better than Allen as the attacking midfielder of the trio. Allen cant play that role well.

    Neither can Henderson though.

Seems to be that we just plan on out-scoring Stoke today :)

I say that he does well enough going forward. This year will be very telling.

    He's better at it though.

Ideally we'd have someone superior to both in there

True but at least Henderson will put himself about. Lucas / Allen hold hands and Gerard hasn't the legs.

    BT1 kickoff is 12:45.
Mark Halsey is there, ugh hope he's not the co-co commentator again, ever again.

We are playing Stoke at home, this isn't a match we need someone to run all over the pitch. Stoke will sit back, defender and clear the ball whenever they get it. In this game mobility from our attacking midfield is pretty far down the list of priorities.

Lets just say I strongly disagree. Our 3 midfield players sitting in front of the back 3 is useless.
