    we've 2 choices.

force him to make an apology to play, or approach it purely professionally and say we're not stupid, and the apology means little after the summer that's just gone.

just encourage him to play well for his own interests.

Suarez giving an apology is going to have no bearing on his relationship with the rest of the camp.

The apology wasn't to make them all love him again, they are all adults and will have their opinions of him, but it clears the air, and it shows that Rodgers still has control of the group. It's a statement of intent.

this apology thing is the only part of the Suarez debacle that Rodgers is getting wrong IMO.

it doesn't matter a fúck. are the players all of a sudden going to think Suarez really cares just because he gave an apology?

    fúck no.

just make it a clearly professional arrangement. make it clear to Luis that he won't be sold until next summer, when we will sell him to a foreign club, subject to a decent fee coming in.

make it clear that he needs to keep playing well in order to attract the interest of the clubs he wants to move to. make it clear that there's no point in him acting the bollocks, because it will put off suitors. it's in his best interests to do his best for Liverpool.

    purely professional.

this "apology" is nonsense and will mean, in reality, nothing at all.

    Not sure I agree.

It will humble Suarez somewhat to have to stand there and apologise to his team mates. It takes courage to apologise. The other players will have more respect for him for doing it.

It also clears the air and puts them all on the same page before the season starts tomorrow.

I think Rodgers was right to make him apologise.

Yep. Suarez back in training means we can put all this sh!te behind us until January.

Don't think Rogers got the apology bit wrong. If he hasn't apologised we should just drop it however and if asked by a journo say "That's an internal matter"
(of course this will be ruined by suarez saying he hasn't)
Whether he apologises or not is irrelevant but Rogers put down a marker by saying he had to.

Completely disagree with this. Yes, we all know the apology isn't "heartfelt" but it is an assertion by BR and the club that he who pays the piper calls the tune. If BR hadn't asserted his authority, even if it is via a fairly sham/shallow apology, it would weaken the managers position. By making the best player at the club jump through a few hoops it will discourage others from acting the boll*cks and allow a line to be drawn under this chapter. At least until next summer

Guys, you're getting it all wrong. The only thing that matters is how Mike65 feels about Suarez apologizing. :D

Rumour has it Doris the tea lady has been given her marching orders. Still, that's £146.23 saved in wages, every week.

Only in relation to Arsenal AFIK, with all other teams I think it's +30.

Twitter's saying it's just a loan to Napoli with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Great move for her...she knows Rafa's system, should fit in well

I read the rumour earlier and I don't believe it. Tax issues or not, he isn't going anywhere.

Suarez is done at the club, its a matter of time. In the meantime He will play for us again and as such he needs to show respect to the manager and the players. An apology will achieve that.

Yes he will be off kissing the badge at Real / (insert club) next season but so what, BR took control of the situation. This is a small victory for the club!

Wants her to put the cups of tea in certain areas rather than going man to man?

This is disgraceful. You haven't a shred of proof to be posting this nonsense. If you're going to post something so provocative at least provide some links. No twitter BS links either.

Wasn't Doris a Kenny acquisition? Her and Downing in the same week......good riddance to her and her sugar lumps.

Comolli offered her £40,143.23 a week but thankfully it didn't get past the top brass.

Does anyone what the savings on her wages are based on a yearly amortisation? Anyone reckon we could get a tea lady froma top 4 team or would she only want champions league?

You can't blame Kenny for Doris. It was a Comolli signing. They're hardly going to trust tea lady recruitment to Kenny when he was only in a temporary position.

Damn club, treating people like this. Doris was a consummate pro, never moaned or grumbled !

On that subject, I saw a few LFC types on twitter yesterday saying that they reckon LFC will get 90-100 goals in the league this season. I'd love to know what planet some of these people live on ffs. If we scored that amount of league goals, we would romp home with over 90 points. With idiots like that it's no wonder people refer to Liverpool fans as delusional at times.

They were meant to move their HQ to the france mainland to pay the same tax as the other teams since they play in the french league.

    Seems fair to me.
