So, to buy a Wii Mini at €55 or not to?
    Aware that they're unhackable but it's a Ninty device I don't own....
A Ninty device with no perceivable purpose, as I have a Wii and WiiU.....
Help me out my fellow A&R peeps!!!

Absolutely! Are they on special offer somewhere or a private sale?

Private sale, just agreed on Adverts
Sure, if I can't find a use for it you can have for the price I'm paying, €50

    Apparently
I was in the market for a motion plus wiimote and nunchuck, so I'm really getting those with a free Wii Mini!

Just done a bit of reading... apparently you can solder an SD card slot onto the empty pins on the board of the Wii Mini but the IOS isn't installed for SD cards or something.

Would it be possible to desolder the NAND and flash a full retail Wii bios onto it? Look at me... pretending to know what I'm talking about...

Didn't you brick a Wii trying to mod it not so long ago? :P I would've thought it's a waste of time and money trying to mod Mini, especially when the Wii is already proven in that area.

Nah... I bricked The Wii Mode of my WiiU when not much was known about hacking it at the time.

I did say I was pretending to know what I was talking about! :P

Probably not worth the hassle to hack the Wii Mini alright but it'd be interesting from a nerdy point of view I'd have thought, well at least to me anyway.

I'd say something will come along for the Wii mini, but as Andrew said, with the amount of hackable & more capable Wii's out there...it's really not worth the hassle

Well, I'm now the proud owner of a €50 Wii Mini.
The box is in good nick and the console seems perfect although the plastic bags and such packaging elements are missing.
That said it's nice to have one, just to keep my Ninty fanboy nature at bay, or is it throw into sharp relief?

Few random bits. Think it worked out at a tenner for all 4.

Driven, that's the game based on the Stallone film that never made it to cinemas here, we were probably spared some serious misery there!

Speaking of such films, I really am dying to see The Lone Ranger, while it's not getting great reviews most reviewers seem to be more interested in the troubled gestation rather than the film itself, which appears to be entertaining enough, especially for fans of the western, of which I am one.
I suspect that those of us who got a big kick out of Red Dead Redemption would enjoy it, apparently there is a lot of homages to classic westerns in there.
I might drag my son to it before it's gone for good.

Ah I'm going to use my rare cinema trip to go see Elysium instead!

I wouldn't be interested in Johnny Depp doing his captain jack sparrow routine again with a crow on his head

Picked up a few bits, a load of different sized bolts and screws nuts etc to put together my cocktail table.

I also picked up these which are brilliant when you have a few cabs lined up! I was sick of all the cabs coming on when i hit the switch on the wall even if i only wanted to play one (First world problem), so i bought these. Remote control plugs! Now i just power on which ever one i want.

I also got some backdoor action at lunch time.. no thats not a typo.. I picked up a back door off a Time Crisis Cab, mine was missing the one off it. So my cab is now completed!

Picked up the following for a sum total of 19.97
    Endless Ocean for the Wii
Metroid Prime Pinball and Flower, Sun & Rain, both for the DS.
For a while there the shelves seemed to be filled with the same old, same old, but today there was at least a few new things.
Must call into CEX, everywhere else seems to be fairly spent in terms of interesting games for various platforms.

That goes without saying. Good thing my PS2 is chipped. That way I can download mods so I've got all the current season kits and player names.

I picked up the three GAA games around xmas for the sole reason of making videos about how bad they were. You can imagine my disappointment when myself and my housemate ended up loving Gaelic Games Football 2, and played the socks off it together. We came to the conclusion that any town/county when picked by the other player automatically becomes the scummiest place in Ireland.

In other news, I found me a copy of GTA: London on PS1 today. Always wanted to have that one, as I've never actually played it. I think that completes my GTA collection now (not including the current gen ones, because I didn't like them).

The first gaelic games is a travesty but I have to say GAA 2 and hurling while not exactly amazing is quite playable and fun in multiplayer. I promised an article to HG101 about 18 months ago... need to get back on that :P

The first one is muck alright. It does, however allow you to add yourself into the game with the Eyetoy. This made for some good chuckles in my house. the second game has the same option, but it can't be used. It must have been pulled at the last minute.

It's a fair auld rush job all right, right down to using the same commentary as the first game with such howlers like 'first goal of the game' after getting the first point and 'the players will be glad of their slice of orange and cup of tea at half time'.

Just got and installed a HxC floppy emulator in the Amiga 600 I got from Ciderman, playing Cannon Fodder again as I remember it :) much better than the other version and even the emulated one. Now to get the HDD setup!

Never heard of such a device - is it just needed because you don't have the discs and can load from SD card or something?

Speaking of GAA games and the likes, I saw an Aussie Rules PS2 game a wee while ago. What's the word on that?

Same developer as far as I know. GAA version was their sideline.
