BBC are a feckin disgrace we got 5 seconds of it since 6:30 . in between looking back at "british history in the world championships" and heats.
thanks to all the boardies for keeping me up to date.

! This is the guy who was the story of the olympics for me -
for the rest of the country it was Katie Taylor. Different strokes...

Savage stuff, great to see hard work paying off.

Amazing feeling this morning. Up at the crack of dawn to watch it, just knew he was going to do the business. He really deserves this moment as payback for season after season of hard work and great performances. Lovely to see the celebrations too with Marian.
    Congratulations Rob!! World Champion!!! campione.gif

in fairness, British Eurosport extended their coverage to cover it, and gave us plenty of slow mo shots of Rob crossing the line!!

    Superb performance. Delighted for him.

Great example of how to react to disappointment. Redouble efforts, come back and win. Made my day.

Terrible shame that he is from cork though :D

Fantastic Rob. I didn't think gold, but I was pretty confident he would medal.

Well obviously Katie Taylor also since she won a gold medal  but Rob did so well in the olympics and being that close to a bronze, he was def one to watch for any future championships.

Great to see Rob getting gold, after the fourth places. Well done to Rob, Marian and his team.

An hour of sleep, I'm wrecked - heading back to bed, now that the brother has got the LC results, all nerves calmed!!

Delighted for him, he was away at training camps in preparation for today, and he admitted that he was feeling lonely out there, and the fact that his team changed this year as well

Brendan Boyce 3:54:24 - a PB by 27 seconds, which is fantastic for him. Going out and getting a PB at World Championships is what athletes want to do.

Doesn't seem like there is any BBC coverage tonight - think there is only a morning session today, and that its a half day

Eurosport have their next scheduled world championships session from 1.30 to 3.30 this afternoon and I'm sure they will show highlights ..

BBC have no further scheduled athletics today ..

    Who knows with RTE ..

I'm absolutely delighted for him and his family. Despite my best efforts not to like him with him being from Cork he still comes across as a genuinely nice guy. Can't wait for him to go on Ray Darcy and stick the gold medal in that little jumped up w$%^&rs face after him taking the piss out of Rob after he got 4th in London when he sneeringly asked him did he get a certificate for his 4th place.

Rutherford out of the Long Jump in qualifying.

Recovering from injury. Lost sponsorship deal. Splits from manager and girlfriend.

A case of Olympic success going to his head?
