You'd think the BBC would at least cover it on the red button.

Eurosport going on about Rob's training and dedication to the sport - Marian has given up her career this year to be Rob's coach and work with him, he's been away in Spain training, away from his family for weeks in order to prepare for this day!!

Massive achievement given how close he's been on previous occasions. The feeling of "thank feck" must be amazing.

Amazing performance Rob, well done. Just outside the national record. I guess the medal ceremony is tomorrow evening?

OMG I'm just delighted for him! Up there with all the golds we've won in major championships in the past and there wasn't even a mention in the sports stories on RTE website :mad:

Give it a second ! It's the main sports story now.

Super stuff. That is a great result and should be apprecaited by everyone. To be best in the world is something else and something only very few Irish atheletes have been able to achieve.

I thought you'd be happy, there was at least 500 metres of the race around in a circle on the track :)

But they would usually have a build up story as well even before it was on! This is the guy who was the story of the olympics for me - so narrowly missing out on a bronze and they didn't think that he could possibly do a lot better at world championships?!
