Apologies if this has been answered before but i dont even know what terminology to use to find the answer

I have a website which is comprised of various different pages. On the top of the page is a row of tabs which list these pages. Ideally, when I'm googled i would like these to be displayed as the options that appear under the main site in the google search. For some reason google lists pages that are buried within the site and i dont know why?

Can anybody tell me why this is happening and what i can do to change it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The things that Google lists are called Sitelinks.

AFAIK, there's still no way to tell Google what to use. But you can demote ones that Google is choosing to use - details about that in the article too.

Ultimately - Google decides what pages it fees are the more appropriate ones on your site for a particular keyword.

To see what the preference is to a site search

so in the search bar put in site:mysite.ie

that shows the pares indexed

then

site:mysite.ie keyword

That shows the pages, and the pecking order, google has for your site on that keyword.
