What is your proudest moment?

In one sentence - tell us what your proudest moment is.

If aliens arrived at your house and asked you what's the best thing you've done and what are you most proud of as a human being what would you say?

Perhaps leave marriage/childbirth out as these could get repetitive.

    Mine:

I'm most proud of completing the Camino de Santiago by walking for 32 days.

I saved an old dear's life about 2 years ago. I was pretty proud of myself that day!

The fact that I no longer eat meat or fish, and that we keep adopting stray cats and give them the best life we can.

I quit the cigarettes cold turkey. And have not taken a single drag since. :)

The day I realised I can kick my dads ass.

To be honest I think it was his too.

Ever since we got into a bit of a fight one evening our whole dynamic changed. He treats more like a grown man than his son and we get on a sh!t load better.

I know its disrespectful to get into a digging match with a parent but I think I'm more proud of how we get on as a result and that he feels like his son became a man that day in his eyes. (I was in my late teens when it happened).

Hehe.... 4 so far, and we've re-homed 2 (the others wouldn't get on with them, otherwise they, too, would have stayed) :)

My 5 year-old son's first successful fart trap: asked me the other day to check if there was something on the back of his trousers and when I looked closely, he let rip in my face.

    Getting married.

Boring, but true. Puts everything into perspective.

I think Garth Brooks had a song about this.................

This is the only version I can find of it.

A number of proudest moments. Running a marathon with only a couple of months training and an almost 30 a day habit up to a few weeks into training. Giving up the cigarettes for good once and for all cold turkey four days into the new year. But above all, thankfully deciding that life was actually worth living having contemplated the worst.

Good that you're getting along better, but your dad is a dick.

Getting over 100 thanks on a post. Best way for girls to do this btw, is to post a photo of themselves naked in front of a famous monument

    A) You've never met my father.
    B) You don't know the circumstances of what happened.
    C) I'd appreciate if you kept your opinion to yourself.

What does it put into perspective?

It used to be the day I got my degree knowing the hard work it took but since then i've become less proud of it as I realise I know nothing of it. The dumbest person I've ever met got one grade lower than me,so doesn't say much for me.
And i've nothing else to be proud of.

    That's my story.

"Big Steve" kicks his Dad's ass, "becomes a man" and then goes for a beer with him.

Sounds like the plot of a 70s Country and Western song.

Sadly we did not go for a beer. But I happy that we actually get along now.

Fair enough, sorry if it caused offence, just going on the post. But if you don't want opinions on it, don't post it on an internet forum, especially AH.

    In my mind, you did.

And it was one of those roadhouse bars on a highway and you went to a titty bar afterwards.

No harm no foul. I'd have no problem getting opinions on it if everyone knew the background to it.

C'mere you big lug....... give me a hug :pac::pac::pac:
