Studying at TUM, Freising, Germany

Hey,

I have applied for an MSc at TUM, Freising, near Munich.

Has anybody ever studied there?? Or studied in the Munich area?

Is college life in Germany much different to that of Ireland?

I am planning to get a part-time job. I see it as great way to improve my German. Have people done the same?

I have visited Freising before and it seems like a very nice, but strangely quiet town!

Working in Germany isn't an issue if you're from an EU country. (it could be a different situation for people from Switzerland)

It looks like its too late to apply for the daad scholarships but BAfoG are still offering them so I'm going to try with them.

The issue isn't actually the work permit as much as it is a taxation problem. Once you pass a certain amount of income you will be taxed and will be treated differently by certain student-related institutions (in my example the dormitory).

Please do your research on this before making any decision!
