Hi, hoping someone might have come across a similar issue to me.

I have a MBA running OSx 10.8.4 I also have parallels installed running Windows 7 and Office 2010. I had not logged into Parallels for a few weeks but I am just after trying to fire up MS word and get the following message "There is no application set to open the document Microsoft Word 2010"

All my other applications that are running on Paralles are coming up with the same.

Appreciate any pointers on how I can ascertain if my problem is with Parallels or MS.
    Thanks

Are you sure parallells is running and was it definitely a Windows Dialogue box or a OS X Dialogue box you were getting?

Nialler, Ineterestingly, the message only appears when I select my MS programmes from the winders folder icon from the dock (which is the way I always used to access my files) When I go to the parallels icon on the tool bar at the top of the page I can run my programmes via the "Windows Start Menu" Quite bizarre. the message box I am receiving is an OS X message. Its like the windows folder in my dock no longer recognises Parallels. Do you know what could have changed? I have had this set up for 18 months. Thanks for the assistance.

    Hat tip to stack exchange

"The way I was able to resolve the issue is by launching Parallels and then going into the "configure" settings. Next, I went to the Options > Applications, and checked "Show Windows applications folder in Dock".

Apparently when you drag the folder out of the dock, it will automatically uncheck this setting for you. In fact, if you try adding the folder manually and then launching Parallels, it will automatically remove the manually added folder."
