    Rio saying the current squad is strong enough to retain the title.

    Hopefully that's not the start of carefully constructed PR over the next couple of weeks from players/managers to culminate with 'we couldn't get the players we wanted for the right money'

    Sport saying Utd have an unhealthy obsession with Fabregas.
    "Cesc gave his word to Tito Vilanova before the coach’s relapse, the last thing that would go through his head would be to jump ship."

    "The interest from Manchester United has almost become an unhealthy obsession. Calls from representatives of the club to Cesc’s agent Darren Dein, are daily in an attempt to convince the player, but Cesc has instructed his agent to not even give rise to any negotiations, refusing to even sit to hear the United financial proposal."

    I can see it now.

    Hi, my name is David Moyes and I'm a sex Cesc addict.

    :pac:

    Gary Neville was the first to get the ball rolling on Twitter.

    What the F do you expect him to say?

    Any player from top 4 would say they expect to win the league.

    Who are those quotes from? A source close to Cesc or something probably...

    Didn't realise RVP and Cesc have the same agent.

    See Gustavo was a unused sub against Dortmund the other night. Going to be hard to keep all those midfield players happy.

    I still think I would rather Fellaini though over him. Gustavo would certainly improve the squad though

    Does anyone really believe we won't sign a player for the rest of the window?

    For the love of god read the whole post.

    They're just quotes from the article which isn't quoting anyone so just the words of the article writer, Jordi Gil.

    but obviously his source is close to Cesc. ;)

    Moyes after the game;
    "I thought our players played very well on a difficult pitch," he said at his post-match press conference. "I think we made it look like a good pitch. I thought we played well and it was an exciting game for the supporters to see.

    We didn't worry too much about the pitch conditions at all. We played well. We move on now. We're trying to get the players fit for the start of the season and it was another hard workout in hot conditions. I'm happy with it. Now we return to the UK and we're ready to go to Sweden in a few days' time.

    I've taken away a great experience of my first tour and what this club means around the world,"
    the Scot added. "I've also got to know the players and I've settled in to my new environment. The players have been working with a great manager for a long time and they've got to know me.

    It will take time [but] I've enjoyed working with them. I can see why they're champions - the way they conduct themselves and the way they go about their business.

    I've known these players because I've watched them over the last few years. But to see the young players - Adnan, Lingard and Zaha - who I didn't know so much about, I think they'll go away thinking they've come here and contributed to it.

    In the first half, we were very good. Kitchee came into the game more in the second half. I hope their players enjoyed it and the crowd enjoyed the game."

    I read and understood the whole post, it's basically paranoid conspiracy stuff that isn't happening but people will worry that it is anyway.

    Yet you chose to just quote part of it.

    I was merely speculating on his comments but anyway I'm not arsed getting into an argument over it. I only fear like some that this Summer, like others before is fast approaching our time to start commenting on the value currently in the market and the possible lack thereof when it comes to central midfielders.

    we will, but can you honestly say that we will sign a world class CM which is what the concern is? the club has, as yet got it wrong so far this summer, there is no guarantee they will get it right in the remaining 5 weeks.

    what do you expect to happen by the way? all we hear so far is people slagging off those who have no faith in our board, yet these people then wont give any details apart from "theres 5 weeks left in the window".

    if we were to sign some average players in this time, does that mean its been a good summer? no fuc*ing way.

    13 days just flew by,

    I'm not too bothered by signing world class players. I will be happy if good quality players with the potential to improve are brought in, I don't mind if they are not established at the top.

    The world class players we would want are all at big clubs and very very hard to get, would be great to get them but not the end of the world if they can't be bought. Not getting some really good players that have performed well and have the potential to play to a high level would be very disappointing.

    Ive not felt confident once this summer we would add to the team in the areas needed.

    Every day that goes by its the same then you have weeks and then months and now all of a sudden where getting into August.

    Its got to the stage where its actually a waste of time to complain about this on here because its clear most of yous are either sticking to your guns or just dont wanna see it for what it is.

    I really want to see big players come to United and i hope all the worrying was for nothing but at this stage ive no confidence in our chances of signing anyone who we actually need.

    When you have players and the manager coming out saying how great current squad is and how we dont really need signings if they dont come that just paves the way for excuses.

    We seem to fail regularly at getting our transfer targets that its gotten embarrassing for a club this size. If its a money issue then well were ****ed in that sense cause every season theres a new club with a billionaire owner to compete with.

    I really hope we use this last month of the window but the way we have gone about things so far is a waste of time. I hear alot of yous throwing around the fact that were looking at world class players and trying to sign them is that not enough??

    Well in that case why not bid for Messi because if everything we have seen so far is true then we have as much chance of getting him with our way of doing things.

    This was on the Express this morning, absolute nonsense IMO and a classic SELL PAPERS MONDAY headline. Not a quote from them or a source.

    'Secret Meeting' my arse.

    AS reporting that according to information from Catalunya Radio that Darren Dein has said the following;
    “We have not spoken to United,” Dein reportedly told Barcelona executives.

    So according to Thiago no one approached him...... Now Fabregas agent saying they have not spoken to United.

    If this is true then wtf are we actually doing then?

    Caught offside are running the same story. Conflicting reports from Dein. Most likely both stories are made up and their "sources" are non existant.

    Valdes the latest player to have his say;
    "I trust him to stay, I think he is excited by this new phase at the club," Valdes said at a press conference in Barcelona.

    we have a squad full of these players already, we dont need any more of them. if we signed two world class midfielders, that the club has been missing for the last few years, i have every confidence that we would push for a CL semi final place at least this season. as it stands, we have failed to get past the last 16 in the last 2 seasons and this trend will continue unless we bring in the players needed.

    squads win leagues, but when push came to shove and big games had to be won towards the end of the last 2 seasons, we were found wanting....big time.
