when i was at my friends house i was using a wifi server fine but when i come back to my house it wont work i am using a 3gmobilewifi

If it was on LAN, it will only work when you're connected to the same router, at least I think so. If you want to play away from each other you need to setup a proper server, I believe this can be done through the options.

You could also set up a virtual LAN using something like Hamachi.
