10 speed Tiagra on Mavic Askium - need spacer?

I put a Tiagra 4600 10-speed cassette on a pair of 2nd hand Mavic Aksiums that I bought.

There's a mm or two of play in the mounted cassette.

I've read online that some 10 speed cassettes need spacers on wheels (but I put on everything that came with the Tiagra cassette).

I've also read online that some Mavic wheels need a spacer with non Mavic cassettes. I don't have a spacer with the wheels but these may not need any?

Anybody know what spacers I need?

It's most likely the aksiums will take an 11 speed cassette which means you need a spacer for 10speed. You should be able to get one from your LBS

Assuming the aksiums are reasonably new (ie within the last few years) then they are 11-speed compatible. To fit a 10-speed cassette, you will need the mavic spacer (one of these I believe). Any mavic dealer should have them.

For a 10-speed tiagra cassette, that's all you need.

Thanks for the advice guys - thinkbike.ie kindly gave me a suitable spacer for free.

    No more wobble!

from my research the freehub needs the mavic spacer and the shimano spacer that comes with the 10 speed cassete. i got new cosmic elites yesterday and thats what i fitted 10 speed 105 cassete with;)

    Thanks ThompsonBike.

From reading online the mavic spacer is 1.75mm and a 10 speed spacer is 1.85mm (or vice versa, I forget) so I think I'm ok with the 10 speed spacer instead of the mavic one.

Thinkbike also gave me another spacer - which I found an exact duplicate of in the middle of the tiagra 10 speed cassette - maybe between 4 and 5 or so. I already had that in but hadn't noticed it as I was thinking it would only be spacers behind the cassette. So I think I have the two necessary spacers - I found a chart somewhere online trying to make sense of what you need when!

There's no movement in the cassette at all now and the gears are changing sweetly :)
