dell dimension 4600 4400 upgrade

    Hi everyone
    I have an old desktop Dell dimension 4600 and would like to upgrade. Catch is theres no money to spend so I have to do it myself. Also just got a Dell dimension 4400. ANyway I can use parts from one to upgrade the other?

    Also big problem, ethernet cable plug on 4600 broken and these simply cannot be changed. But I think 4400 is bit lower on specs...

    Can you advise me what can be done using these.

    If you plug the service tag numbers into the dell website it will give you the exact specs of the machines as they shipped, so should give an idea as to which is better and how compatible parts are between them
