how long before the farmers start moaning about not having waterect

The local authorities have beaten them to the punch; on Wednesday, after 3 days of good weather, they started issuing
the hosepipe bans. Is this a record?

Relatively cool this morning in North Tipperary as compared to other days, and it is completely overcast.

No one needs to water the lawn, grass is basically unkillable, the first drop of rain and it'll spring back to life.

24 in Waterford now. Very nice. The south will do the best over the next few days before things start heating up again in the second half of the week.

Still no sign of this cloud clearing up here in Cork.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 655 ✭✭✭marvsins

Complete blanket of cloud here. Warm outside but looks like it may not burn off today unlike last saturday when it cleared around this time.

I suppose those who would go to the trouble of watering the garden are the same kind of people who don't really like looking at a brown and dried up looking load of grass.

Seems to be problems with a few automatic Met Eireann stations not reporting today.

They said it will be on after winning freaks.

I suspect the graphics failed in time to re-arrange it this time, or else Joan needed to go to the jacks.

I think it's time to update the thread to July 2013, Month of Melt. :-D:-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,069 ✭✭✭irishfeen

Why do they broadcast the weather live anyway?, there should be a 15-30min delay so any problems with graphics don't happen... its not like is has to be live.

The infra red satellite probably shows the extent of cloud cover better than the visible, this is from 1200 and that cirrus over North Leinster would now be over Dublin making the sun very hazy.

Breeze coming from the west rather than the sea today.

Currently 26.1 with near cloudless skies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,134 ✭✭✭✭maquiladora

Worth pointing out for those who follow the GFS charts (and to remember for the days ahead), if you look at the very latest 12Z run rolling out, it has highs no greater than 24 for Leinster at any time today, yet Oak Park is at 27 at 4pm.
