Saints must be laughing that they bought two of the best Lions for this season.

Not to mention Fotulai'i (I'm not even going to attempt to spell that correctly). They thumped Saracens away at the end of last season, could be a serious proposition for Leinster in the H Cup next season

They'll want to hope his knees can last an entire season, with Mujati and Tonga'Uiha gone their scrum won't be half as effective.

I'd rather go blind than see that happen.

Also can the Lions please go away now until at the very least post WC.

I'd like to see him stay on but I would like to see Rob Howley banned and a restraining order put on him so that he's not allowed within a mile of Gatland.

And then someone decent can come in for the backs. That would be an awesome side.

Based on results ( Wales & Lions) he probably deserves it even if Australia were the weakest of the 3 nations the Lions play against.

A series win has been a long time coming and he delivered.

Gatty and Schmidt in a Labit/Travers kind of partnership with Farrell (defence) and Rowntree (scrum) as assistants. Then we're talking.

How long a break do the players get before returning to their clubs?

Suppose it depends on the unions. I'd imagine we won't see the Irish players until October

If anyone has a good reason not to absolutely love SOB I'd be impressed.

    He's class at everything!

that is interesting. I wonder why they didn't bring their own kitchen staff with them. Cost cutting maybe.

You'd have to be drunk to sing anything mu Mumford & sons, the George Hook of the music world :)

That, and the fact Australia is [relatively:D] civilised.

Looking at the menus, it's fairly straightforward stuff that any half competent chef could prepare - the emphasis seems to be on sourcing the ingredients and observing certain rules about preparation.

I think specialised chefs only make sense in endurance type sports (cycling, running etc) where more a more exact scientific approach to nutrition can have a bigger impact.

I don't think he does. Could easily have lost the series before we got a good performance in the final test. Home nations have a terrible record away to New Zealand. Doubt we'll have time to stumble onto our strongest lineup and we'll need a coach who can combine our best into something far greater than any of the individual countries. Did Gatland achieve this on this tour? I don't believe so.

    Qantas Wallabies ‏@QantasWallabies
.@QantasWallabies head coach Robbie Deans has announced this morning he is stepping down from the role effective immediately.

Big casualty of the tour, I say some in Australia are happy that they lost the series because with a series win it would have been impossible to sack Deans. Deans did not have a great tour, played without an outhalf and could have done more to change up the team.

Mackenzie in, former prop...should help matters for the aussies. Also expect to see regular cooper/genia half back combination.

I doubt the Lions give a rats behind about team performances, I'd hazard a guess it's totally results focussed and to that end Gatland is king at the moment.

A lot will happen in the next three years but at this moment in time Gatland must be in prime position for the position.
