Fishing in Carlingford Lough

    Hey folks,

I would be a fairly novice fisherman, but will be heading to Belfast in early July and hope to bring my gf fishing on the way back.

I only have 2 sea rods, so will these be okay at the lough? Is there a specific area on the lough I need to go? Do I need some sort of licence?

Any help will really be appreciated.

    Thanks allot.

It depends on what species you are after. Mackerel - if they ever turn up can be taken easily at Greenore. Dogs and others at Balagan Point or the shore between Greenore and Carlingford.

    Cheers,

So I suppose I will bring bait and feathers.

    Any more feedback is appreciated

    Thanks again

    I wouldn't need a licence either, would I?
