Upgrading from Kanger T3 & eGo-T

I've been vaping about 3 months now and I'm looking to move onto a bit of a better setup than the starter kit I got from Vapeland.
One battery came apart and I lost the button and one of the clearomisers works much better than the other for some reason.

Now I'm a complete novice to this lark but I saw the Kanger Protank given favourable reviews in another thread as a very good clearomiser. It apparently fits the eGo batteries and I can then upgrade to better (variable?) batteries later.

What is the general opinion on this move? I know nothing about the dark arts of dripping and rebuilding etc soa simple solution would be better and more convenient for me. But I don't wanna waste my time either.

I'm currently using Wingnuts juice and I could do with a bit more flavour, tbh. Would this Protank help?

What batteries would you lot recommend I could go for and could I charge it using the eGo charger, maybe using an adapter rather than buying more gubbins.

Thanks a lot. Don't have any desire to smoke 'analogue' any more and my cough is nearly gone. I must be 1% healthier and I'm not spending a fortune on fags any more so it's all good. My little baby boy will hopefully have me around for longer too!!

    Viva la Vape !

well lets not go mad. Under 50 say, as I will be at this for a while so if I could upgrade bit by bit it would be handy, but hey, I'm open.

you could go with the pro tank but it is alot bigger around than the ego battery.

Ah thanks man. That's a great help.

One question though. What am I looking at here? Is that just a battery case that screws onto the Clearo?

You basically provided links to a Protank, battery, batteyr case and charger, right.
That charger doesn't actually say it's suitable for that battery type though.

When I see references to a '510 thread' is that a standard fitment that is (so I've gathered) fatter than the eGo battery and looks like a whiteboard marker size.

ONe more thing and apologies for all the stupid questions.
    What does 'CE5' refer to?

Thanks a mil for all the help.

Yeah, you put a charged battery inside this and screw the clearo onto it (some clearos like the T2/T3 would need an adaptor).

    It is. If it'll take a 16340 it'll take an 18350.

The 510 threading is the thinner inverted threading. ego threading is thick and on the outside rim of an eGo battery

    What does 'CE5' refer to?
It's the generation or style of clearomiser, usually used if it's a no-name brand (if it was made by Innokin, Kanger or Vision you'd see it mentioned).
Thanks a mil for all the help.

Hope the colour purple was okay for you, I'm not allowed to use red. Very commanding, I've heard.

This is just about in budget and has all you need: http://www.e-smokeireland.eu/product-p/itaste3.0.htm

Someone on here has one and said good things about it, can't remember who...

This also has everything, battery won't last as long but if you don't like the box shape of the MVP linked above: http://www.e-smokeireland.eu/product-p/itaste3.0.htm

Damn you all. I got the itchy fingers and pulled the trigger on heliguyheliguy's links above.
I also ordered a Kanger Evod to see what it's like and have it as a backup.

So much for saving money lol.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll be back looking for more info again, I'm sure !

Pique it's a good choice. To be honest I think for that price range it's one of the better combos. Great thing about it is that you can charge several batteries quickly and easily. I have like 5 batteries now and always have 2-3 full charged. This kind of battery charge is much easier for me than charger egos singularly on a usb charger with a screw in end.

The protank is the most hassle free easiest nic delivery system. It's got really great ease of use, holds a decent amount of liquid and build quality is just awesome. However flavour wise it won't knock your socks off. It's good though, it's the best option for the money and hassle free. So it's a good choice. Aim for some flavour throat kicking cloud machine later when u have the spare cash to burn on experimentations.

The sigelle 19 can take all sizes of batteries and is really inexpensive compared to what else is other there.

So really for the money, its a great kit. Should be much better in the long run for you than buying more ego batteries and stuff like that. Hats off the Heli for putting together this little kit. I hope ur happy with it Pique and congrats on the vaping. Viva la Pique! ;)

haha Cheers dude. It all arrived this morning but no cable for the battery charger o I have to go root out an old stereo cable (seems to be the same connection) and charge up the batteries (I ordered 2). The Sigelei looks like a really cool piece of kit so with it all together I'm looking forward to it.

Got some Cappucino Diablo from ESI which smells divine so looking forward to that and am tempted to get into the home-made mixing too. The posts on Vaping Ireland about Capella Flavour Drops and The Alchemists Cupboard are making me wanna try that out.

    I'm getting worse!

Just putting it all together now and there's a tiny gap between the protank and the sigelei when tight. Is this normal?
The bottom button will take a bit of getting used to from the egos.
Have to say though, the sigelei is a beautifully made piece of kit. Really nice. The machining is exquisite. Can't imagine trying to do that manually on a lathe!

Take the top off the Sigelei with the Protank connected, the positive connection that's inside the Sigelei should be able to screw away, so give that a couple of turns to loosen it, then screw the Protank down fully on that side, then screw the positive connection back up until it makes a connection.

    Least succinct sentence ever.

Its a small gap to let air through to the protank, some have slots for the air, some atomizers will fit better than others. Gaps can drive some people nuts some not so much, some atomizers have adjustable pins some mods have them.
    Not sure if this helps

well? how are you getting with the new setup?

well? how are you getting with the new setup?

Pretty good so far althoug hI now know what people mean by the protank being 'airy'! It does seem to depend on the juice though as I was using Pink Tiger and it was very airy and I changed to the Cappucino Diablo and it was better.
Had a dumbass moment one day when it wasn't working at all and I thought the sigelei was banjaxed but I opened the protank and turned out the coil wasn't screwed in tight so the connection wasn't being made.

All in all, I'm happy (although not ecstatic). with the Protank. It's nicely made, looks good and holds a lot but the throat hit isn't there.
In PBusardos videos, he suggests removing one of the wicks so I may try that and see if it improves. Zero leaks from it though.

The sigelei is a sweet piece of kit. simple and extremely well made. I think the 700mah batteryies I got might be a little low on staying power and I'll upgrade to something bigger as I hate changing batteries as I forget to charge them and then I'm at work and it dies. That's one thing the eGo has going for it, a USB charger so I can plug it into the laptop while I'm working.

I'm considering a carto of some type next. and will be looking for one that meshes flush with the Sigelei (I'm fussy about gaps like that :) )

btw. I also bought an EVOD clearo at the same timeand it gives a pretty good TH (dare I say better than the ProTank!) but the think is gurgling like feck after only a few days use (even after cleaning and tightening everything!).

The Protank and Sigelei is a heavy beast though. Not something for a shirt pocket, that's for sure !

I'm not sure if I'm a moron or what, but my Sig has the negative connection(spring) on the top of the thing and positive at the bottom.

The Sigelei 19? The one in heliguyheliguy's post?

    Yep. See the attached pic.

That's really weird, I'd just take it off. It's totally unnecessary and stops you from adjusting your connection, which is supposed to be adjustable.

    Strange.

Your button has a spring, right? They didn't put it in the wrong place?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭Mr. Chrome

Not sure but I think you can stick a smallish screwdriver up trough the spring and adjust it, probably wrong though :-(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,026 ✭✭✭grindle

Probably, but... Why is the spring there?

Yeah the button is spring loaded. I just reckoned it was normal like when you put batteries in your remote control or whatever, the negative end has a spring.
