Is anyone worried about this or has anyone had it?

My mum is a primary school principal and there have been two cases in her school recently. Reason it was an issue is one of the teachers was 6 weeks pregnant at the time so has been on leave since. I have been hearing about it more and more recently but that could be as I only had my first child 8 weeks ago so am more aware.

Edit to add: the teacher was fine btw, the leave was a precautionary measure.

There was an incident of slapped cheek in the class I was teaching while pregnant. I had tests done to see had I contracted the virus. I hadn't. Dr told me there wasn't much point in me staying at home as by the time the rash appears the contagious period is often over. If you are worried about contracting it I would always err on side of caution and stay away from children suspected of having it as it can be dangerous for pregnant women. Seek drs advice.

Thanks. I'm being retested for it next week.

I was exposed at 5 weeks pregnant when my child caught it & then again 2 weeks later when my other child caught it....so I was tested & thought nothing of it as I didn't end up with any symptoms...I was well shocked when the tests came back as positive...they retested 2 weeks later and they were positive, then they took more bloodwork again.

Because of the + result baby has been monitored closely from 7 weeks pregnant, referred for frequent scans by the fetal medicine specialist & I am not allowed care under the midwives team, I have to see the consultant...it is a pain in the ass having to travel to the hospital every 2 weeks, but everything looks great & I am nearly 22 weeks now.

What was your outcome lazygal? (if you don't mind me asking!)
