Spin Tires - Tech Demo

    I came across this lovely little tech demo after reading a blog post over on Gamasutra.

    It has some really nice off road mechanics with pretty amazing terrain deformation. It's pretty addictive for a tech demo, then again I spent far too much time playing with nVidia's Supersonic Sled.

    Can you imagine a game like FarCry or DayZ with this?

    Some pretty decent free surface water effects too. Your truck will generate waves as you cross rivers.

    Downloaded this after seeing it played by nerd cubed, same as yourself I wasted far too much time on it :)
    The wet look of the tyres when you leave the water is amazing!
    The ground deformation is brilliant!
    I'd recommend to download it, IIRC it was only 90Mb

    very nice tech demo.

    i got stuck far too many times trying to drive thru trees.

    lil jeep aint worth a ****e tho. diff lock my arse. :pac:

    I used the truck to push the jeep out of trouble a few times.
    I like the persistence, just quit the demo and take off from the bog you're stuck in later.

    We definitely need to see this kind of thing in open world games.

    So this was released,looked for a more update thread but could not find one.

    Not a massive fan of jackfrags but a good non descript demo of the game,looks like fun

    No workshop/mod support though,which is a let down. Games like this are perfect for mods:(
