    Sorry to hear it td5man.
    i lost both of my parents a yr apart from each other
    my dad was sick before my mam died and she went suddenly
    so he just followered her as he coulent life with out her
    time is a great healer but its bloody hard with out them.

    Not unless you're in a > 100% tax band.

    Reclaim the VAT

    charge the (non VAT) element to tax.

    Have 12 acres to spray for a neighbour and the sun is beating down here, would it be a waste of time doing it now or shoudl I wait until evening when the sun dies down a bit?

    temp never bothers me unless im spraying delicate crops

    I'm sorry for your loss td5man. I was away for a few days so only catching up now. Very hard to know what to say to someone in your position other than to offer my condolences.

    Smashing days.
    But lost youngest calf yesterday from sunstroke. They have shade and drink.
    Found him lying but alert. Gave electrolyte and he was up walking about after. Dead this morning.

    How should I have treated him??

    Lad on lorry had collected 8 already, all same :(

    Nights are cold enough I would bring in any under a month at the moment. Had 2 that looked great yesterday but had streams of gunk coming out their noses this morning out with the nuflor.

    Going to bog for couple of hours in morning. First time ever saving turf m. Was told to just stack it its lying as wad cut at minute. Do ya turn it so wet side is at side or facing straight up!????

    Another one catching up here. I'm sorry for your loss. Sad times. It's a real passing of the guard, one of those milestones in life. It's never easy.

    Conventional footings would be wet side up, in pairs across each other, 8 or 10 sods in a footing, and a single across the top.
    A barrel footing would have 3 sods on the ground, dry side down, and each course after the first crossing the angles.
    If the spreadbank is dry, you may get away with just turning it and then windrowing it or rough heaps.
    I'm sure there are regional variations but we in Offaly know our way around turf :-)

    Yeah you need to turn it first then foot it, finished footing mine today must try get it home before the rain next week next few days will really dry it out

    There'd never be any spraying done outside of this country if guys were as obsessed about a bit of heat as a lot of us are elsewhere.

    Ah you have to do it right give both sides a good drying then foot then home. Ill never get the tractor down there so ill prob have to bag it draw it out with the quad to the road then into the tractor trailer
