Isn't his car something nearly identical to the colour?? And interior?

Very appealing proposition it is though. That sweet V6 Busso engine (they really don't make em like that any more)

Best mate bought this recently for €1k in the Netherlands where bangernomics cars usually cost at least twice what they cost here.

    256567.jpg

Runs on LPG (you really wouldn't know). 300k kilometers on the clock. Glorious Alfa Romeo Busso V6 petrol engine

No his is metallic wine and his interior is more cream. He doesn't like that red because it fades.

IMO that is the nicest combo you can get on a 156 though!

Looks very clean. Nice colour combo (is it black or dark blue) and cream leather. Long test.

    Black. Fantastic find :D

E39, you just need to drive one for 5 minutes to realise it was the best all round car in the world (for reasonable money). And yes, even the low spec 2 and 2.2l manuals were just as good. The next best all round car is the current 5-series. I guess I'll have to wait patiently for a petrol one to become available. It will take years...

    166man will appreciate this :)

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/vintagecars/5070226

    Not bad for 950

Lovely looking car but according to the lads on alfaowner the belts have never been done on her/no record of the belts ever been done.
I'm on the lookout for one at the moment now that I can get insurance on one (:)).
There was a lovely 156 v6 for sale down in Wexford last week but I didn't get to it in time. This seems to be the only one on the market in Ireland at the moment.
The 156 busso will probably be a future classic as well.

Awh :( and there was me thinking I done good, I'll be in the market for something a bit "left wing" meself soon so I'll be keeping an eye on here ;)

The more the price drops the more tempting it is... Belts are 48k miles on the V6 AFAIK... Still a good find, reckon the price will drop more though...;)

Interior not so bad but the outside colour isn't great IMO. I'd doubt it's as good as it looks in the pics and believe me, they really do fade! So happy mine is metallic!
Isn't his car something nearly identical to the colour?? And interior?

Nearly, mine is wine and interior is grey leather. :)

Still hate the wheels and lack of OEM bodykit though..:pac:

Whole front of car is resprayed. Blatant import would have me wondering too...

Belts would need to be done among other work but even still. Put a few hundred into one and you'll get it back in years to come!

Money alittle strong for one of those as well, I picked up a 2L version 2/3yrs back for 800quid. (the 2L is only afew quid more to tax than the 1.8, which is actually 1805cc or something, zero difference in insurance for most drivers as well). Still a fantastic car, if you could snap it up for 900/1000 it would cost you buttons to run and shouldn't depreciate much. The respray or fact that its imported wouldn't bother me, bar any obvious clocking or serious structural front end damage.

That seat look like it's done a good bit more than 90k miles. Either that or the person that owned the car was a fairly big guy.

Nice but surely there must be something wrong? Nothing wrong with the price, but for sale for a long time. NCT nearly out...

shouldn't be long now until more of these are in bangernomics territory:

    NCT 01/14, 2000

173k miles, no tax, has been for sale for a while, recently bumped.

Can't tell is that an arseprint or a reflection on the bonnet.
