Drove past this towards malahide yest eve, the owner of the off licence in portmarnock was vetting kids at the door for id, Garda car pulled up and started checking kids booze as they approached the beach, I prob saw about ten Garda vehicles drive towards the area.plus Garda chopper overhead.

What I don't really get is how this wasn't anticipated by the gardai and from early on in the day a strong visible presence wasn't there to prevent things kicking off.

After being in a relationship with an Irish girl for nearly three years I honestly don't understand how racism is even a thing, all i see are a bunch of hooligans who don't care about the well being of others and some victims who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. However if you choose be racist and refer to us as uncivilized monkeys etc you should at least try to pretend that you are civilized and fix your grammar.

Isn't the weather supposed to be nice this Sunday / Monday ?

I'm going to go for Bray, spots, stone house cider, testosterone, easily impressed promiscuous teenage girls, Adidas wife beaters with scrawny arms popping out, white socks just above the ankles, track suits bottoms / cum shorts down just below the knee, Swedish house mafia, mobile speaker units, badly rolled joints (hopefully packed with weed bought in drogheda).....& so on.

What's not to get? Garda numbers are continuously dropping and overtime is non existent.

This. I cant imagine this happening in other countries. One of the finest beaches in the country taken over by drunken yobs. For riots to happen a few years running indicates there is a problem here. I was going to go for a run out there yesterday and I am so glad I didn't. This isnt normal behavior and shouldnt be overlooked and treated as 'Ah sure its only teenagers having a few too many cans'. Obviously lack of policing is one issue here but racism is also an issue.

Shameful stuff that our youth can behave like this.

Very big of you . I don't see the connection with my post though. I am not condoning antisocial behaviour, I am saying don't judge guilty by demographic or race.

Yeah, but when i wrote that, i thought that Malahide was closed.

They just lessened the staff in the station on Duty, and close doors at 10pm.

They should reopen a lot of stations in the summer, as it must be when most of this type of cr@p kicks off. Especially in good weather.

Although, i am all for cutbacks if it means the Government get to keep their wages and Pensions. It wouldn't be fair to see either of them lowered with all the work they do.

This was a riot?

Compared to what's happening in Sweden or the London Riots in 2011, this was nothing more than a few tanked up scrotes having a bit of a dust up. Not pleasant for the families who just wanted a safe day on the beach but entirely predictable.

The Burrow Beach in Sutton and Portmarnock beach are a magnet for pissed up miscreants when the weather is good.
