If you are a graduate you can apply for a Graduate Reader's Ticket. More details here

To save yourself a bit of time, apply online at the above page, and your Reader's Ticket will be waiting for you to collect when you come in. Our Admissions Desk is open between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am-12.45pm on Saturdays, so you need to drop in between those times to collect your ticket.

Your Reader's Ticket entitles you to use the Library facilities but not to borrow any books.

You may only use the Library when it is open (9.30am-4.45pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri; 9.30am-8.45pm Thurs; 9.30am-12.45pm Sat) and it does NOT entitle you to use the 24-hour Study room.

I used it when studying for my MA (by distance - UK). As said above, you can't borrow, but having access to a quiet library study space is invaluable. Great to have the facility.

This is great to hear. Can graduates with the reader card order books from stacks to be consulted in the library?

Yes - no problem. Once you have a Reader's Card with a barcode you can use this to order books remotely - you'll be sent an email when the books have been delivered to the counter, and then you can come in and collect them.

Don't forget to leave them back before the Counter closes!

Also, with the readers card, can you still access the stella catalogue and online journals?

Anyone can access the Stella catalogue - you don't have to have a Reader's Card or be a Student here. Only Students and Staff can access the online journals remotely. Holders of Reader's Cards can only access the e-journals and databases by coming into the Library.

There are four computers in the Berkeley Library set aside for visiting readers - access is on a first-come, first-served basis.
