Anyone got any early thoughts on this race? Was shaping up to be a decent race (Sole Power, Reckless Abandon)...before Maarek was taking out.

The one I fancy at a price is Kingsgate Native. This dual Group 1 winner finished 2nd on his seasonal reappearance to Sole Power lto in the Palace Stakes.

Won this race in '10 and was 2nd in '11 also to Sole Power. Was off the track for the best part of a year and is now looked after by the specialist sprint trainer Robert Cowell (previously with Stoute).

Has already been cut by some bookmakers (Boyles from 16's to 12's) but still available at 14's (12's generally).

    Reckless Abandon for me.

Sole Power all day long for me - very consistent at top level when on right side of draw. 2nd in this to Bated Breath last year and as good as ever this season. Reckless Abandon and Pearl Secret still have a bit to prove against an experienced sprinter of his standard IMO. Hopefully ground continues to stay good and he gets a rattling pace. Read that Pearl Secret connections would like some rain for their horse too.

    PEARL SECRET out. Dirty scope.

Not sure the ground would have softened anyway.

That 11/4, was it?, available during the week on SOLE POWER looks even better now.

Hard to look past Sole Power, but Reckless Abandon could turn out to be a very good sprinter. Im very wary of him.

Was lucky enough in the end I guess (Swiss Spirit missed the break and flew home) but delighted he hung on. Cowell does some job with these group sprinters.

Well done fella! ;) Dunno why I didn't have an ew bet on your pick when I was so confident about Sole Power. Little between them on Palace Stakes run. Enjoy the winnings
