    Hey,

Have a 2005 Mondeo 1.8 petrol, accidentally let the battery die earlier by leaving ignition 3/4 on, so I got a push and jump started it. The engine management light came on and has stayed on.

Any reason why this is? Anything I can do myself to get the light off?

    Thanks

if you disconnect the battery for hour it should reset the the engine light. or you could buy ford f super diagnostic code reader(ebay 25euro) that will read the code store in ecu to see why light came on. and can delete them turn the engine light off. ......edit ford f super don't cover 1.8 petrol mondeo :o

Also you will need the radio code if you disconnect and if the car is left for a day or 2 it usually resets from that problem but make sure to bring on a good spin to charge up the battery.
